What's the deal with scaling?

I understand why the rewards get lower and the enemies get stronger every time I win and move up ranks. But why doesn’t the opposite happen when I lose? Should I be stuck with either 230 for a few hundred points or 70 for 50? Why does it take a whole day for rewards to reset? And most of all, why doesn’t this effect the low level players that somehow find their way into the top 10. Can someone explain to me how this makes sense?

Resets are 12 hours. Don’t know where you’re getting a whole day.

For me they’re a whole day, I swear. I wake up early so I play at like 7, and it doesn’t reset until the next morning. Thanks for the links though. They at least explain why it’s wrong.

It depends when you last finished your particular stage it resets exactly 12 hours from that point. so if you started the stage and went through it once at 7am and then did it again once every hour, say 3 times you would reset at 10pm as you would have finished at 10am.

So I would have to not play the level for 12 hours? Ok cool makes more sense, thanks for the info.

yep that’s correct, good luck

I don’t know or care how “scaling” works, but I’m sick of seeing players with low level 1* rosters finish higher than me.

Yeah, scaling in and of itself isn’t a problem, the problem is when the enemies don’t scale the same way for everyone.
