There’s plenty of nasty and not-so-nasty abilities in MPQ, and I’m sure each of us has one that we never seem to have much luck stopping. What’s your personal gremlin?
For me, it’s Inferno from either Johnny’s two star or three star incarnation. I often have great luck stopping surgical strikes from X-Force, but I can’t remember the last time I managed to stop an Inferno from hitting the board. I ate THREE infernos in a match I just played, and that was against his two star (buffed) variant, and me actively prioritizing black (Luckily, nearly back-to-back Infernos don’t do much)!
I find Ares very rarely does just one move. He always seems to get enough for green and either his red or yellow move simultaniously. Ares always spams moves for me.
I usually find that if there is a ** on the AI team, and their colors overlap with someone else, the ** powers are given priority until you get them out of the picture. On a team with both Ares and Juggs, I find that Ares hits with
and Juggs with
.
Heck, even in matches he is not in, i seem to eat an team up onslaught, hate ares, despise fighting him, in some lucky battles i get out rather unscathed, but almost always i eat an onslaught and a sunder (sometimes he will kill himself to sunder me).
The one that bugs me the most is Cage
, he always gets it off and happens to stun the one person who is about to use an ability to finish him off… grr
Also MNMags he always get a good cascade to get polarity shift then activate his red and blue at the same time. So you get 2000+ and a new board with a guaranteed 5 match. Luke Cage always hit me with righteous uppercut and CMags always hit me with his whole power set usually fueled by Hoods blue
Two or three Ares fights ago, the AI got not one, not two, but three consecutive match-5’s on its opening move, fuelling both Ares green & yellow for turn two.
I hate fighting Ares.

to the list, especially if he’s got a goon feeding him. Ticking time bomb that I frequently fail to defuse.
Forgot the name right now, but its all about Ares yellow, i can’t avoid it and sometimes i can’t stop the tile from goign off and recovering health for him
Chemical Reaction. No matter how much you deny blue, at some point he gets a blue 4-match in a column or row where there is another blue tile and that’s 5. EVERY time.
