Which type is a transforming creature?

When a transforming creature has different types on each side, do both always apply? I wondered because the other day I had two Aberrant Researchers out, one as the transformed version, one in human form, and both were not bounced by a transforming Thing in the Ice even though one should not technically be a Horror.

That’s weird. Summoning an Aberrant Researcher has failed to count for the Terrors in the Shadows objective for me.

Abberant Researcher is a Human Insect. It transforms into Perfected Form, which is an Insect Horror.

Thing in the Ice bounces non-Horror creatures, so it would bounce the front side of the card, but not the flipped side of the card.

BTW, the card is a sequel to the paper Magic card, “Delver of Secrets” from the original Innistrad set, published in 2011. The original card was Magic the Gathering’s take on the classic horror film, “The Fly”.

That is what I thought should have happened, but it didn’t.

Sorry. I misread. Not sure if it’s a bug or a feature. Or should I say, an Insect or a Horror?

Nice one icon_e_wink.gif

I am not sure, but I think the Horror form even retains the humans-only bonus of True Faith Censer.
