The main “favorite team” thread has ballooned to Ego the Living Planet proportions, so let’s refine the boundaries of this one to the teams you use (with the exception in the title) to clear challenge nodes. I’ve been trying out some non-max-level setups to see which trios are more than the sum of their parts.
Thunderbolts: 1a5Venom, 5Bucky, and 4Moonstone
Supports can make this a turn-0 win with Moonstone feeding black to Venom’s nuke, but they’re faster if you let the enemy team get a turn to trigger Bucky’s passive, which deals all single-target damage to an additional enemy.
Gameplay is enjoyable because it requires planning and strategy to set up favorable matches, cascades, etc.
Frankie, ImHulk, and Moondragon
Get green AP, send Frankie airborne, then Mondragon delflects damage to ImHulk, whose whole schtick is getting stronger every time he’s downed and resurrected.
The weakness here is that Moondragon can fall to enemy cascades, but you’ll never have to heal Hulk.
CosmicIM, Hobgoblin, 4a5Coulson
Not the fastest, although fast enough, and darn reliable. IM’s cheeeeap red and yellow feed each other, put CDs on the board, trigger Coulson to put out five more CDs every time, and generate blue AP for Hobgoblin to use to pop the CD’s generating enough AP to repeat the process indefinitely.
Coulson and Hobgoblin both deal damage with every expired CD, but this occurs in two waves of Coulson first, then Hobs. This team would be great if this shortcoming could be addressed by expired CDs leaving in a single burst rather than one-by-one.
I find Avengers Tower on IM results in the fastest wins. These guys have been effective for farming Simulator, too.
Agatha, Kang, and Toad
The fastest of the ones posted so far. It’s all about blue. Make a blue match, then fire Agatha’s blue to add more blue tiles, which then triggers Toad to add blue charged tiles. You’ll soon have enough blue to send everyone away for the win. If Kang is tanking blue, he’ll get the match damage boost from Agatha, so you might only have to send away two enemies.
If 5trange is an enemy, just send him away early to minimize damage. This still works because firing Kang’s blue gets Toad to add blue charged tiles, too.
It’s not a Turn 0 win, but typically Turn 1 or Turn 2, with the enemy team only getting at most one move in:
Chasm/Kang/4a5Coulson, with purple AP boosts on Coulson/Kang and black AP boost Chasm. Cast Kang black turn 0, and if you can, use Coulson purple to match black for another cast of Kan black or some blue. Coulson CD tiles generate enough blue to usually have 2 away at beginning of Turn 1, though sometimes all three. CD tiles from “awaying” 1 or 2 characters creates blue to have all three away beginning of Turn 2.
Downside is it takes some time for all those CD tiles to go off.
The main reason for Chasm is to get an extra turn in before the enemy can take a turn.
Whatever characters from the boost list have the best synergy. It’s very rare that the boost list is so bad that I would need to cheese out a win, but if it comes to that Multiple Man and coulson with ap boosts can guarantee a win in 2 turns. Chasm as a third so the enemy team never gets a turn.
Try Carol/Coulson/Riri. You need battleworld or low level AI on Carol, refreshment cart on Coulson, and 6 green AP for Riri. Cast Riri stun the first turn then just watch. You should be able to cast it every turn after that, and it melts enemies really fast.
Fosthor, Beta Ray Bill, and Polaris can still hack it, but they’re brain dead.
1a5Jugg, Beta Ray Bill, and Polaris are slower, but Jugg fires his green infinitely.
1a5 Hawkeye with Batons, Doop with Cuckoos, 3a4 May or Agatha with QRealm
Bring 50% on critical tiles, 50% on purple, and +2 blue/purple
It’s not uncommon for my Doop to one-shot an 800k enemy with one critical tile. Three critical tiles placed ends the match turn 0.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I guess I’m just unimaginative ![]()
I usually use Kangveil or whoever is the tankiest boosted character, Mult Man, and Glad Hulk. Not fast but tends to do the trick.
Yeah, I did not realize how well Ghost Rider 2099 can work with the Hawkeye infinite until you posted video of the combo in that “Challenging the CL10 Challenge Nodes”. If anyone has questions about it, seeing is believing.
The only ascended Hawkeye I’ve got is at 5 stars so my team isn’t as optimized as it is in WhiteBomber’s video. I have to fire GR2099 powers in order to take advantage of his face melting purple passive, but it still works and I find it’s more fun than the Shang Chi - Hawkeye duo.
(a) Swap out MThor for 5Riri. Put the Arc Reactor support on Riri. Fire her red twice and then Frankie once.
(b) M’Baku/Chasm/3a5Namor. Tinkerer on Chasm to get the black to file 3a5Namor’s black.
I still like to use Agatha (with batons for 6 purple), Darkveil (with Krakoa for yellow AP), and Toni Ho (with Sp/Dr for yellow AP).
Cast Agatha Purple, Darkveil Yellow and then infinitely cast Toni Ho yellow to trigger all the repeater tiles, generating AP and doing exponential damage with all the self replicating Agatha repeaters.
It is sometimes necessary to take a turn to gather more yellow AP at the start, but reliably wins by turn 1 or 2, and whilst it’s slow-ish it’s much faster than any Coulson Countdown shenanigans.
Occasionally it slows itself down when Darkveil sends someone away for a few turns if any Team-Up AP has been gathered
But I see that as an opportunity to get as many repeaters on the board as possible. A game within a game!
My bad, WhiteBomber, I totally forgot there was a similar thread within the past month.
All these great teams and so few saved team slots ![]()

Having fun right now with war/Polaris/Kamala and Emma3>4*/Colossus/Namor5*
1a5 Hawkeye, 5-star Agatha and 5-star Phyla. Equip Batons and Quantum Realm. Get Phyla’s black going ASAP.
I use May/ / Viper/ whoever
