If I DO get a ProfX from this Ultron event (I hope!), who should I drop from my roster to make room? If I somehow get enough HP for a slot, I’ll just do that, obviously, but if worst comes to worst, who gets sold?

If you need to, I’d drop Doc Ock. Think i had him rostered 3 or 4 times before he managed to stick in my roster.
Haha, I think I’ve done the exact same thing. Every time a new 4* I needed or some other random cover I wanted more showed up, he was gone. Good to have this confirmed!
