Quite a few articles about it, everything is being rebooted, all new #1’s for everyone and new stories.. but if the teaser art is any indication.. did they get lazy in drawing everything?
Ive noticed Marvel’s art seems to be pretty shoddy these days as a whole. There are exceptions to be sure, but man I’m so tired of the dark minimalist approach many artists use.
I prefer the minimal look. It’s clean and it doesn’t look too busy. I hate the classic covers, like the Magneto one in-game. The shading lines are very distracting to me.
Thing, yeah. Horror film Human Torch. Rocket Raccoon giving us the finger, classic. Wolverine and…uh…Wolvereen? Wolverina?
Hrm. Buccaneer America. Pretty sure the guy in the green hoodie is from Infamous. And if I’m not mistaken, that’s Lando Calrissian in the upper right, casting magic and wielding a battle axe, I am totally on board.
Marvel is not-so-subtlely pushing Mutants out(See agents of shield, the Maximoff siblings) and pushing Inhumans in. I don’t know if they’ll have the balls/ovaries to declare mutants an alternate universe, but that’s one theory
I wouldn’t say the artwork is terrible. The “posters” look clean, more cartoon-like. Even if that carries into the new universe, it wouldn’t be tragic. There are enough artists out there that we should get some diversity.
Feasible it could be Sunspot, haven’t seen it mentioned either has him or Johnny anywhere. The flames look like they’re surrounding his body/behind him and over his hands, which fits Sunspot to an extent, Johnny’s more whole body on fire. Sunspot’s been in the Avengers for a quite a while AFAIK as well despite being a mutant.
Could be a whole separate character entirely though
