Why this game keeps pushing me away?

Last time I was on the brink of leaving this game was past november, after the release of 4hor and Devil dino they released a new 4* just 15 days away of the last one. After the crazy time it was playing to win 4hor I was like ‘I can keep playing’ I got really upset. Then I decided to go casual and stopping using money in this game (I never was a I whale but in the 500 days time I have played I have spent around 250$, more than in all other fremium games together and then some, last time being when 4hor was introduced). And this was not the first time I though about leaving the game.

Time passed by, the game got better in some ways, new interesting 3* came out and in the end the new 4* were rubish so I could keep playing just for 4hor and forget the others.

Now after buying 3 4hor covers, and winning the others I got allmost a full 4hor (5/2/5 - 222lvl). It is really fun playing with her, I like her A LOT.

I have put a lot of work into her and some money and now D3 decides to over nerf her, just because they want to create new chars that they will create new power tiles. THIS IS A VERY BAD DECISION FOR THE GAME. She is not being nerfed because she is OP (we could argue if she is OP or not, but I think this has not been the reason she is being nerfed → XForce???), she is being nerfed because they want to create new chars that can make her too powerful. Ok great. She needs to be nerfed. But then again they over nerf a char. The only char that has been nerfed and it is still good is CMags, and I think this is because they changed him completely, he was not nerfed, he was redesigned.

D3 DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO NERF A CHAR.

So please Devs, don’t nerf anyone. Redesign. You always nerf chars too much. Spidey is useless, Ragnarok was useless (now it is not good but at least is different), Sentry is useless, MN Mags is going to be useless, Mystique is going to be useless. YOU ALWAYS OVER NERF. Leave 4hor with at least 7-8 power tiles. Don’t break her like you broke the others (AND 4hor is not OP in the same way Sentry, Spidey or CMgas were).

I don’t know why, but this is the only game I love to play that seems to want to push me away. It seems Devs doesn’t want me to play their game. After some months I was happy again playing this game and now I think I will stop playing alltogether icon_cry.gif

PS: I really think that If they over nerf 4hor, A LOT of people is going to stop spending money, and this will be a fatal blow for this game. This could be a turning point. Devs need to think this very carefully.

Bottom line they need to learn from Marvel heroes and Gaziiiion… Though different games, Gaziiiion doesn’t generally go around nerfing powerful characters (it does happen but not often) but they go around buffing/improving previous heroes which are deemed weak or not fun to play…

You pop over to gaziiiion’s forums and you find it’s probably one of the most pleasant/friendly forums you can come across. Not only do the development team over there interact fairly frequently with the community, they actually listen! Something D3 has shown but at a much slower rate..

What D3 should have done instead of nerfing left, right, and center is actually generally improve weaker stronger character SIGNIFICANTLY more frequently than they nerf characters. yea it’s a lot more work but it also means you’re less likely to annoy the hands that feeds you! Like I said D3 can do with learning a thing or two from the way Gaziiiiion handles their community with their marvel heroes game.

Finally, an anti-nerf thread that I can get behind! Yes, Devs, please be extremely thoughtful about character changes! Unfortunately, I don’t have a 4* Thor, so I can’t agree or disagree about whether she plays like she used to or not. I get that she can’t one-shot any character in the game now, but neither does Hulk Smash anymore. These characters do change in “value” constantly, with or without nerfs directed specifically at them. What is most important is that they keep the flavor and role of the character. I think that is something that people need to consider more when purchasing covers. Do you like the role that this character plays? Or do like that they are currently ranked #1 among other players? The Devs prioritize the former far above the latter.

I do see a concerning pattern emerging here, though: when two or more characters have strong synergistic interactions, then the Devs sometimes change those characters so that those characters essentially require those interactions to play as originally intended. I hope that is not what is happening with 4* Thor and some new character in development. I find it very unappealing that Sentry now plays much like he was originally intended only when you pair him with a 3/5/5 Hood. With anyone else, WR is way overpriced and has a timer that is one turn too long. I’m now worried that 4* Thor will play much more like originally intended once she’s paired with new charged tile generators to come. That’s not game design that I can get behind.

If we set Thor aside for a moment, however, I do think that other character changes actually bode well. mnMags purpleflag.png
looks to have been reworked very thoughfully; he can still trigger Speed Shot easily, and fuel Wind Storm and Infiltration just fine. They actually went out of their way to ensure that his Winfinite disrupting aspects don’t interfer with his Hawkguy synergy. That’s awesome! Remember, Polarity Shift wasn’t originally intended to trigger Speed Shot, but they know that has emerged as a common play strategy. In addition, he’s got a new role as a redtile.png
AP battery! New and interesting play styles will definitely emerge from that. This is how a rework should be done. Kill the game breaking aspects, of course, but keep or enhance the established flavor and role of the character.

Instead D3 just nerfs everyone until each character sucks equally.

Are we having “Fun” yet? (I need to ask that because the devs have a very different definition of “Fun” than i).

Every time they say the words “XZY is Unfun”, i vomit just a little.
