For me its generally playing drunk. This is such an easy game to play when you come home bit drunk and been antsy for last 6hours that you are going to miss pve referesh(THE HORROR). Last night though i was maybe bit too drunk cause i’ve spent all my HP, all my +3 AP booosts and i’ve dropped 300 ranks in lone star tournament. I have no idea how that is even possible unless i’ve purposefully trolled myself.
I did this exact same thing! Specced him 3/5/5, felt like an idiot for a month or so, then fun-balancing hit and I was a genius! Honestly, while everyone was complaining about how bad he was now, I felt like mine had got better!
This just the type of person I am, but I’d say my worst mistake with this game is having it loaded on my phone, on my homescreen, and didn’t play it for the first 45 days or so until I needed some exposure to a F2P game for one of my term paper assignments for my MS/F degree. Kicking myself for missing the early days gravy train that has pretty much dried up (although I caught some of the back end of it), and being that far behind the power curve. 45 days more worth of ISO makes a world of difference between triple 385s and triple 3141s (not to mention missing a realistic chance to build working 3*** “out-of-print” covers).
My first week in the game I pulled 3 GSBW’s with standard tokens and sold them because I hated the cover art. I didn’t even think about the level of cards and how that may come into play… I was still playing the prologue and wasn’t sure if this game was anything more than a cooler candy crush. I still hate myself for it.
I thought I had lined up the enemy team for GSBW to finish them all off with sniper rifle, but they all ended up surviving with about 200 hp left (probably due to defense tiles). One of the survivors was classic Storm, who proceeded to do 3 full damage tempests to my team.
Been there. Was playing one of these Hulk PVEs last week and he had like 13K of health I had successfully taken his allies out without losing any health myself. So I was excited and took a screenshot and thought to myself that I was going to continue to 1 turn kill him off with a combo of GSBW/MStorm cascades. Then I fat fingered and matched the wrong colors. He killed MStorm on the next turn and then the rest my team within 3 more.
My one mistake is one I make regularly. When trying to squeeze in matches at the end of a sub-event, I play very recklessly and end up wasting a large number of characters and boosts trying to eke out or maintain my ranking.
