I’m a PvE player in the 3* to 4* transition, but still keep Juggs and 7 2*s available to help me with event essentials and Deadpool Daily.
I noticed I don’t currently have 2* Hawkeye on my roster and don’t like using a 1 cover rotary spot to add/drop guys as they become essential characters.
What 2* characters are never used as essential? I’m wondering if I can cut some guys from my roster and only hold on to ones that will eventually be in the essential rotation. Is there a list of when people are used somewhere?
If you have to pick and choose, villains are much less frequently the 2* PVE essential. I think Prodigal Sun and maybe one of the heroics are the only story events that use villain essentials. The Simulator and Gauntlet events can have random essentials.
Deadpool vs MPQ can also have villain essentials. Heroics only have hero essentials though.
Keep in mind that the Essential two-star is rewarded fairly early, so it’s not difficult to re-roster if needed.
I have Thor, Cap, Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, Torch, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, and Black Widow rostered, and Prodigal Sun is the only recent event I haven’t had a 2* for. Ultimately I suppose there is reason to roster them all, even Spiderman, for farming purposes, but as far as essential nodes go, it’s just not that important. 2* champs don’t have a meaningful impact on your ability to clear those nodes, and they get less relevant over time.
Roster the ones you like to play with but don’t stress about champions.
keep an open roster slot for essentials and pay attention to pve event placement rewards to know the next 2* essential. if you don’t have it, save it in your queue and stick it into the ‘extra’ slot and just rotate that slot with ones you don’t have rostered, or later use it for a new character.
He is also the only two-star who gives you a Legendary token on level 144. That’s the main reason to roster him, though the Mr Fantastic thing is the main reason to play him.
