5* characters that start with half-health

I’ve noticed at least a couple of old 5*s always start matches at half-health. I know Silver Surfer does, but I can’t remember who else. Anybody know why this is? Not sure if it’s a bug or an old balancing feature, but in the current meta it makes those old characters even more nerfed than they already are.

Could be the rebalanced chars who got health buffed are bugged now, but that’s only my 5 Pence

Had this happen with my 5*Doc Ock yesterday. Wondered why he was injured when I hadn’t used him.

Sorry, it was Green Goblin, not Doc Ock.

Probably this:

or this old one from:
Reddit
Which typically happened when a player stopped playing for a while and came back.

I guess my question are:
Do they heal at all? or just to a point and then stop?

Here are some of the recently rebalanced characters:

  • 1-Star Black Widow
  • 1-Star Iron Man
  • 1-Star Spider-Man
  • 1-Star Venom
  • 1-Star Yelena
  • 2-Star Captain America
  • 3-Star Luke Cage
  • 3-Star Deadpool
  • 1-Star Hawkeye
  • 3-Star Iron May

For example:

Ascended (1*) Spider-Man (Original) is always stuck at 4 hours left to heal.

Yep I think Green Goblin was the other one for me. Sounds like it’s the rebalanced character bug

Pretty sure it’s the first one you mentioned. That would add up. Thanks!

Just chiming in to say this is really annoying. We are coming up on two weeks of this.

It concerns me that nothing has been done.

Originally I thought R344 was: “3 steps forward, and 2 steps back.”
(Fixed some issues, and added a couple new issues)

The newly introduced lag, unable to heal, tapping sounds, etc. are all big steps backwards.

There was a “hot fix”, which addressed one issue that was introduced:

I really wanted the “hot fix” to take care of all the issues that were introduced in R344

One would say R344 was falling the stairs back down, I say R344 was falling into the open elevator shaft while on 93rd floor

The App Store says 344 is 2 weeks old.

Can someone chime in with a status update? @TheMigz @Jeto someone?

Is this a thing that evades fixes? Something that will be addressed in 2 more weeks with 345?

It’s really annoying and it is a barrier to further rebalances, apparently.

This should be resolved with 345.
It seems to have been an intermittent issue with a number of characters that have had their health changed at some point. Basically there was a process in the game that was meant to go through and clean-up old values, but it turns out it wasn’t doing that at all. It would’ve worked at some stage, then stopped working at some point. The oldest rebalance we’ve noticed this with is Silver Surfer which I would’ve been rebalanced in 2022(?), I believe.

Good news. Thanks for the explanation.

Will R345 also fix all the other issues introduced with the rebalances, such as base tier characters being stronger than their ascended versions? Which explicitly goes against your own stated goals with the May rework.
