5* feeders: How many covers have you gotten from each feeder?

With the announcement of a new feeder that kinda shocked a lot of people, Jubilee feeding Phoenix, it got me thinking of how many covers people got with the feeders when they went live. I know some people track a lot of this information and some don’t. Here is the list of feeders. Let see how people did.

Gamora → Thanos unchamped at update, got two cover since. Gamora at level 299, so the third comes whenever I get Another Gamora cover…

Medusa → Black Bolt Don’t remember status at release, probably got one cover at update. Currently around 330, so two covers since.

Vulture → Peter Parker Unchamped at update, has passed 300 since. 2 covers, the only ones I have for PP.

Sandman → Green Goblin Unchamped at update, currently around 290, so just one cover.

King Pin → Daredevil Got him to 300 just Before the update, he has passed 320 since, so Three covers in all.

Kate Bishop → Hawkeye One cover on update, still waiting for her to cross 300 for a second…

Drax → Star Lord One cover upon release, one more since.

X-Force → Old Man Logan Three covers on release, none since.

Black Panther → Black Panther Still waiting for the first one.

Peggy Carter → Captain America (First Avenger) Got one on release, gotten one more since.

Jubliee → Jean Grey Should get one on release.

I don’t have stats for when the change went live, but I’ve kept track of what I’ve gained in total, and can kinda reverse-engineer some of it.

Gamora - 3 total, only 1 when the update went LIve (chased other 2 to finish Thanos)
Medusa - 2, both at update
Vulture - 2, 1 at update, 1 after
Sandman - 2, 1 at update
Kingpin - 1 after
Kate - 1 at update
Drax - 1 after
Wolverine - 1 at update
Panther/Jubilee - zero, still under 280
Peggy - 1, only waste cover I’ve received

So 14 total, 8 right when the updates happened, only 1 wasted.

Why do some 4star characters feed their 5star counterpart, and some don’t? Anyone?

Will Hulkbuster feed Iron Man? Or will Riri? Or will there be some one like War Machine feeding? Maybe even Iron Spider since he’s brand new?

Will Thor be fed by Thor? Or someone new like Valkyrie?

When are we getting Strange being fed by Mordo?

Will Banner be fed by MEH, TAH or RHulk?

And what is the delay? You’ve got cover saves now (well.. only 3 anymore). There’s no reason to delay anymore. Give us a feeder every week. The 5star tier is already bloated.

Medusa → Black Bolt - 6 covers, have set medusa as my bonus hero since announcement to try and finish blackbolt. Only recently switched when medusas hit 360 and blackbolt completed. No champion levels

Vulture → Peter Parker - already championed, 2 covers

Sandman → Green Goblin - 2 covers to bring him up to 4

King Pin → Daredevil - already championed, 2 covers

Kate Bishop → Hawkeye - already championed, 2 covers

Drax → Star Lord - 2 covers to bring him up to 7, my current bonus hero along with 3* rocket & groot. No idea why I’m targeting this

X-Force → Old Man Logan - 2 covers, had to spend 720cp to complete and championed save a cover

Peggy Carter → Captain America (First Avenger) - 5 covers to bring him up to 8. Peggy was my bonus hero when I pulled bags of tricks tokens. Got like 29 champion levels at the time

None of the fives were champed, but my 2nd DD and PP rewards gave me their 13th covers.

Medusa and Sandman are at 274, and those are my only other possibles right now. If it comes to pass that Rogue feeds Gambit like people think (personally I was sure he would come from Jubilee with her being so generally bottom tier), I’ll be getting a freebie off of that because my Rogue is 282.

My Kingpin is 277, and my DD5 has a 5/1/0 build, so cover saving could not have come soon enough for that lol.

It kind of feels like the first feeders gave the most covers out and since then they started picking 4’s that people don’t have as high.

I think I have 6 from all but KP, Drax, BP, and Jubilee. Vaulting and semi-vaulting obviously had a huge impact on the 4s that were selected from those groups.

There are three questions buried within here.

  1. Are 4*'s overly diluted?

How big are your 4s?
My top five are 370/358/341/341/340: only five of 69 total characters could get four covers if they were selected.
Other 4’s in 5-drop tiers: 16 above 320, 23 above 300, 16 above 280, 9 sub 280. They are getting nowhere, and faster all the time with more and more 4*'s introduced. Now that latests are the same as classic drops - I expect those lowest numbers to stay there, and I honestly don’t know if/when I’ll ever get more above 360/380

  1. Are some 5*'s overpowered?

The oldest 5*'s are simply worthless compared to the new ones. Do the new ones need a nerf? Do the old ones need a buff? Probably both. I’d also suggest match-damage of the old ones REALLY needs to be looked at. When you are getting rewards at supposedly the top tier of the game you simply -don’t care about- because you’ll never use them: that’s not good.

  1. Are 5* drops too slow?

I’ve promoted the idea before and I will here again - the release format is 4/4/5 (approximately). So for every 5* released, THREE 4*'s should be made into feeders to catch up eventually (it will take years at the current rate). There should be at least two - and honestly, it wouldn’t hurt if the two both fed the same 5* at the same time.

Example: Hulkbuster and Riri are natural feeders for IM XLVI. Why not release both at the same time, and maybe in reverse order of covers given? (HB as 1/2/3, Riri as 3/2/1). That will actually give players a chance to cover these characters without so much waste (which there is a new system to ‘help’ with, but if true player help was desired colorless covers would have been a thing two years ago).

I would be much more in favor of several 4* feeders that only give 1 cover instead of the current system. Especially given that some of the newest 4* are becoming feeders for the oldest 5s. Spread it out. Give us a real path to covering these old diluted 5s
