Adding more prize tiers in the top 3 or top 5 for Alliance PvP would really make the system more interesting.
Even if Demiurge is against putting more HP into the equation, breaking that 500 HP down into 300 1st, 200 2nd would go a long way.
At the moment, you may as well call every Alliance PvP the “Give those S.H.I.E.L.D guys 500HP Event”
Alliance PvP rewards are kind of a joke right now because of tanking and that having shields gives a nearly insurmountable advantage, and the #1 prize gives you HP to buy even more shields.
Yeah, Shield is onto things. With PvPs lasting only a couple of days, but PvEs lasting over a week, they can rack up much more HP by concentrating on the PvP stuff. I’m still not counting them out for simulator, but their almost insurmountable lead in the Unholy Outlaw tournament shows where they really put their stock. That’s smart of them. I don’t know if the rewards should be split off from number one, but the prize schedule of #1, #2-50 seems kind of silly. It’s anti-competitive, in a way.
OK, I get the vicious cycle part, but you’re going to have the explain the first half, considering that all that existed before alliances. Before shields even
All it’ll take is an alliance full of active players with high level characters to give them a run for their money. I’m sitting at the top of my ladder with +60ish points on their average.
I think hes just highlighting the fact that the winning alliances get 500 hp for each member and that is a huge advantage going into the next PvP assuming they get top 10 in the player bracket that is 8 3 hr shields to blow through.
Tanking still makes PvP placement a matter of who tanked the best, though at least that’s sort of fair because in theory everyone can tank equally hard. But since not everyone tanks equally hard, a lot of it boils down to which alliance tanks the hardest, since it is pretty much impossible to have any kind of advantage via roster strength if you didn’t tank.
No I don’t. First place in single player gets a cover that costs 2500 to purchase. Alliance gets 500 HP and that requires nearly 20 people all doing well. It’s hardly as out of scale as 1st place in single player.
With that logic, why do we even have a rewards system in place? Let’s just make all pvp & pve into an unbracketed system (like lightning rounds) that give out a single reward for the first place player & first place alliance. That sounds fair for the entirety of the game’s populace.
I am in favor of limiting the cover reward to top 25 alliances, but I have no interest in giving more rewards. Your alliance wins or it does not. 50th place gets the same as second place because it is worth just as much as places 3 to 49 - nothing.
That’s fair enough I guess
Doesn’t change the fact that their “reward system” in alliances has basically resulted in everyone except kitchens giving up on even trying for first, and since we always have 1-2 players absent per event it’s just free 500 HP for you guys every 3 days.
