Are you going to get the Founder Dragons Bundle?

I really want it, but what do you think

Are you going to get the Founder Dragons Bundle?

I need an “It’s so tempting!” option

I know, right?

@Nalthazar hey i saw your birthday video showcasing these, but what do you think about the bundle?
Great video by the way.

I hit buy without thinking, I just wanted them…

(though the silver quill dragon can go fly a kite)

I ended up saying no. I’ll get them after the next set comes out.

Forty quid? Mad price for a few cards!

@HunterToo - out of curiosity. How many crystals do you burn for 5 unique mythics (on average)?

It’s expensive, but if you want some of the mythics from the set, that plus 150 pink crystals and packs isn’t a bad deal.

Hi @Tremayne there’s no average, its 400 pinkies for standard, 3000 orbs for legacy, and I collect both when I can. I used to spend on VIP which helped level up my collection.
I have no issue with players spending their disposable on whatever gives them pleasure, and I enjoyed VIP for a while. But forty quid? It feels like a LOT of cash for a resource you’ll never own, can never sell or trade, or even touch. I spent a small fortune on paper cards in the past, so maybe I’m just getting old and tight

I had this same perspective on mobile “assets” for a while, and then I realized there’s a small difference:
Overhead
When I played Paper, I paid some money for a thing, and then I spent all of the money on overhead to play with my friends, store my cards, organize them, whatever… No one else was doing any work on my behalf after I owned cards. With digital, the money I spend on the game pays for the overhead of running the game. Am I going to whale up and spend piles of money on digital assets that can be deleted as soon as a business goes belly up? No way. But I have found peace spending some money knowing that I’m basically supporting the people who give me a (generally) enjoyable way to spend my free time.
Lord, did I spend so much more on Paper, though… :hushed:

@jtwood - interesting perspective. I tend to see the purchases I make as “ensuring to make the game continue”, somewhat along the lines of your point.

@HunterToo - I was trying to see if you had caught on to the fact that you were paying in a different way than those who chose to pay with money. Maybe you have realised that but maybe not. Furthermore, if you chose to get your card with RNG you might spend a huge amount more than the money method, but you might also get lucky and pay less (in resources) but sometimes you definitely have to wait to get the cards.

I respect anyone’s choices when it comes to paying for mobile games, but just to share another perspective:

If I go to a restaurant, and spend $40 on a fine meal, it’s an ephemeral pleasure. I can’t sell it or trade it or keep it.

If I go to a movie theater and watch a movie, same thing.

Visit an amusement park? Great experience. Same thing. All of these pleasures are transient, but they aren’t things that you can put on a shelf. The value is in the experience.

Mobile games aren’t any different. While I have my issues with this game, I can’t deny that the money I’ve invested has rewarded me with a significant level of enjoyment.

I agree with all the points being made here @madwren especially as I have just enjoyed some cake.
My original point was that £38.99 felt like a lot of money, and now I’m even more annoyed about that. I just watched @Nalthazar s excellent showcase for Professor Onyx, and noted he showed it for sale at $24.99. A quick check told me this was about £17.70.
So why is it for sale in the UK at £23.99?
Now I’m wondering how much more I was paying for VIP or for the bundles and cards I’ve had recently and in the past? I appreciate the almost impossible task of getting the price right across so many countries and currencies (and that currency goes up and down, etc.) but £6 ($8) more is a huge difference.
Don’t worry @Oktagon_Support I’ll continue to invest in this game because I get so much back from it. But take a look at those price differences won’t you?

Maybe it has something to do about local taxes?

too expensive for me in Argentina. so sad…

Pricing is market-specific. This happens in most of the games I play. I’m not a developer, so I don’t know the intricacies, but I’ve heard mention of different tax rates and local fees playing a factor.
