An alternative to all the mmr craziness - bench a character for an event. That character doesn’t count towards current mmr, can’t be used for duration of event (pve, pvp, simulator,lr). Players pulling 5* could sit on them until they are able to use.

I have literally been having this thought all week.
It saves all the people who get a 5* drop but dont even have 1 fully covered 4* yet. Suddenly having lvl 255 guys in your roster completely skips and ruins the 4* progression.
