It’s not like you’re shielding much.
Right – I use exactly one 3 hour shield per event.
Years ago I realized that I was accidentally hoarding a ton of HP, which seemed like a very inefficient use of resources, so I started using it on tokens. I buy the daily deal of almost every token type, and spend more or less on vaults etc based on how much HP I’ve got.
I can’t say for sure that it’s worth it, but hoarded resources do nothing for me today – I’d rather have some small reward I can use today than a bigger reward I have to wait a year for (and I suspect there’s ultimately very little difference between the two anyway).

Yeah, I keep my hp around 10-15K. I agree the best way to advance now is strategically buying out vaults. So you definitely need a bit of hoard to maximize utility. But I’ll never have over 100K HP. Thats just leaving too many 5* on the table.
The CP horde really is a consequence of 5* feeders. Some releases, I start with 12 covers, other release start from zero, so it takes a bit of work to normalize their growth unless its some meta combo that needs to be leveled fast.

Yeah, I don’t think the game is in any danger of shutting down anytime soon, and what I do is definitely less efficient, but it’s more fun for me.
I do wonder how many players out there have a potential roster like mine, where all the difference in levels is currently sitting in a pile of unopened tokens and CP.

I’m at 42 fully covered 4* and 10 fully covered 5* I could champ and have iso for exactly none of them.
I keep working on 5s and feeling generally good about my progress, but at this point it’s sorta becoming ridiculous. Could literally jump right over transition and go from 1 champed 5* to 11 if only I had the mils of iso required. Can’t wait until they finally get around to increasing iso economy like they hinted at.
