Captain America is out of rotation now? Seriously? He’s arguably the best PvE character in the game and someone starting now cannot possibly get him?
I’m all for roster diversity but unless everyone can no longer use Captain America for PvE this isn’t even remotely fair and there would literally be no reason for a new person to even attempt PvE starting with a handicap of unable to ever get Captain America.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say the list of people that started the game at the beginning on season 9 and now have a usable 3* Captain America for PvE is a short one. That’s approximately the duration that he’ll be vaulted.
I’d also like to see the argument of how rosters with 1 cover of Rogers is fair compared to maxed Cap rosters, but not zero.
I’m all for outrage, but c’mon. Every characters getting a spin in the vault, it seems. He was due eventually.
If you have one of each cover you can always buy more, but if you have no covers and a certain character isn’t in the rotation then that’s not even an option. You have a situation where if someone new heard Captain America is good and want to spend money on him, he can’t even do that. This pretty much means they’ve no plan for future growth. It doesn’t matter whether this guy who is going to spend money on Captain America really exists. The fact that you can end up with a situation where you can’t even spend money on the game even if you wanted to is absurd. This is no longer a ‘we need to work on characters when they’re vaulted’. Captain America doesn’t need to be worked on. If he does, it’d be easier to completely remove him from being usable at all for PvE while they’re figuring out how to balance his shield juggling awesomeness because the difference between having that as an option or not is probably the biggest advantage in PvE that doesn’t involve a probable infinite combo. Daken and Patch were both out at certain times, and they’re not characters that need to be worked on. If true healing is bad, they simply need to be removed from the game, which obviously didn’t actually happen. If true healing is okay, then they’re also perfectly okay and taking away the pillars of sustained grinding is terrible for a new player.
Thanks for the update. It would be fantastic if the out-of-rotation characters all received some small changes/buffs. Looking at the list, here’s my quickly-tossed out ideas:
Beast - needs complete rework. Not even sure how to fix this mess without a do-over.
Black Panther - So close to awesome! Make blue do the same thing as yellow, but with protect tiles - fixed!
Black Widow (Grey Suit) - make red better. Cost 9, keep the damage, make it target only one 3x3 block?
Captain America (Steve Rogers) - lower the cost of yellow to 10, make it target just a single tile, with 50% of the total protection offered by the 19 AP’s three tiles cumulative protection.
Captain Marvel (Modern), - Yellow and Black seem fine, make red target strike tiles at higher levels, up the damage by 20%
Colossus - haven’t used him much - maybe re-evaluate black’s cost / devastating alternate usage if he’s the last one standing (black power automatically downs target enemy if C is last one standing, for example)
Daken (Classic) - seems fine
Doctor Octopus - either lowered costs across the board or big-time rework
The Hulk - red needs a rework
Iron Man (Model 40) - eliminate AP drain, lower costs by 5 AP on blue and 3 on red, make his yellow a straight 7 AP with slight increases in AP gain per level
Psylocke - 15% increase in damage on Red and Black, elimination of tile restriction on red. Blue allows you to target any basic tile, steals that color when it resolves
Ragnarok - third ability: Imperfect Mjolnir:
] Ragnarok launches his not-quite-a-perfect copy of Mjolnir at the enemy, dealing xx damage (1,777 damage at max level) and destroying seven random yellow or red tiles in the process, dealing damage but not generating AP.
She-Hulk - level 5 blue - four tiles. Red - destroyed tiles deal damage. Green - for that cost, it should be true healing. If that’s not a thing that can happen, it should only cost 8 or 9.
I started this game on 30 Nov, toward the end of Season VIII
I’ve these guys with 1 cover sitting in my roster doing nothing:

(and of course I don’t have a few 3* like Black Panther/ BWGS/ IM40)
So these guys with 1 cover are going to be covered in dust until at least in March? :<

As Ragnarok is out of the rotation for Season 11, I’ll assume 3* Bullseye drops first. This grants time for us to get Ragnarok’s third ability RIGHT as Season 12 starts.
I’m decent at math but just don’t remember all the numbers. So does this now mean we have a whopping 0.45% chance of drawing a given 4* (2.7% by 6 chars)? Not that they were great before, but that seems pretty abysmal. And if you only need one color? Whew, good luck.
Not more than 3 months after character rotation was included and already more than 1/3 of the 3* is out of rotation. Does this still seem like a viable solution?
PS: I need 1 cover to respec my LCap, but I can forget about that now!
I get what you’re saying, but I must say there are plenty of other characters who do just fine in PvE - I usually place very high, and almost never use LCap…
