How do you feel when a Commander from another alliance joins your alliance only to recruit members?
In my opinion, joining different alliances and asking their top players to join your alliance is disrespecting the Commander. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling anyone out and no it hasn’t happened to me but I’ve just seen it in different alliances.
Coming in and saying “Join my alliance because this alliance is terrible”, is not the way to go and it’s uncalled for.

I posted this on the discussion board for a reason.
It’s disrespectful as a whole. That being said, the game is built up almost to prevent communication so on the other hand it’s incredibly hard to get people to join your alliance outside of the forums and most people on the forums are looking to break into a top hundred rather than an alliance that is trying to get to top hundred.
I agree and that only leaves 2,000 people (alliance rank) who can be in top 100 out of the millions who are trying to get there. It is hard for alliances to make top 100, you really need loyal alliance members who will grow with you. That’s how I see it. But again, I do think it’s disrespectful when someone comes in and tries to take something you’ve worked hard on.
Agree it is disrespectful and rude. But as long as a commander does his/her job correctly, then the members of their alliance won’t leave. Going into an alliance with the sole intent to take their best scoring players is morally wrong, but that’s not going to stop some people.
What stops me is one simple reason. If I go to another team and say “Hey, come join me, my alliance is better”, and a player comes over, how long will it be before some one else says the same thing and they leave my team for a better one? If a player leaves at the first sign of a better offer, then they are not very loyal. And having loyal members you can trust is a very big part of what makes a team successful.
The top scorers of every alliance know they can leave.
Hell, if you can score more than 700 points per PVP, every alliance from the top 250 all the way to the top 25 would love to have you.
But as a commander, if your alliance members don’t trust you and enjoy the alliance, then they are better off leaving. You don’t need members who aren’t loyal to the alliance haha.
I’ve had alliance jumpers before. They are terrible. Even though they were some of the highest scorers in my alliance, I was glad when they were gone.
Switching your alliance to public just to fill the last spot and some douche joins trying to recruit for their alliance. Exulted was doing that for Helter Skelter. Not sure why since he’s not part of that alliance. The equalizer from xmenace 2 posted in our chat that he was looking for recruits. None of our players left but it’s still very disrespectful.
Mischievous and deceitful.
Chicanerous, and deplorable!
(But then again, on the other hand, it takes two to tango. If an alliance member decides to up and leave, I say they’re free to go, as I really wouldn’t want them around anymore.)
I agree with what others have stated, while it is pretty tasteless to do this, any players you lose in this manner were not worth while to begin with anyways. My alliance and I would lol at them, then I would kick them.
A commanders behaviour reflects how they will lead, and this should show players that this leader is sneaky/devious. How can you trust that?
What does it matter? If you have a strong alliance that’s achieving what it wants in terms of where its players are at, then you shouldn’t be losing anyone. If your alliance isn’t achieving well enough for a particular player, then they’re probably within their rights to leave anyway.
Sure, it’s a bit lame to enter another alliance just to recruit, but… it’s a competitive game. The only reason why this should bother someone is if their alliance isn’t meeting the requirements of each player to begin with, and there’s a risk that someone wantsto be somewhere better.
Just my 2 cents, the way I see it, I’m proud that someone came and try to recruits my team, that means my team is strong. Nobody would try to recruits anyone with a lousy season score or lousy roster.
Disrespectful ? Yes. Immoral ? Yes. Part and parcel of the game ? Yes.
A lot of people from top alliance reserve to using LINE to scout and search for top players to join their alliance. One way or another it’s poaching as well. People leave alliance to join another better alliance all the time. Whining about it and complain about it won’t help it. Do your part as a commander, lead the team, and you will gain respect from fellow members. Loyal members won’t leave anyway and this didn’t affect me at all throughout the game.
Drawing an analogy to football games - big clubs send their scouts to look for good potential players to join them, controversial as it’s, it’s just part of the game, the players should be honored that some top clubs are monitoring them. Their decision to join or not is solely based on themselves, not the outside factor.
Peace.
Whining about it and complaining about it is something that I’m not doing. Like I said before it’s never happened to me. I just feel that it’s disrespectful. And believe me I do my part as a commander, I try to make my members happy all the time. But if someone in my alliance wanted to leave I would let them. But I see what you’re saying
Seriously, someone should go with my idea of changing the top banner to “Marvel Puzzle Quest Forums - a match-3 mobile game”.
People just lose perspective like crazy playing this game.
If someone messaged me on this board going “So I see your pve score is really good and you have a nice pvp score, want to come to my alliance?” I would not be incensed. I would not go to my commander and tell him the latest news on the message board player poaching scandal. I would say “Nah happy to be where I am ty” and move on with my life.
You can trivialize anything in life with a condescending attitude.
To some it is just a mobile game. To others, like the people who spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on it, it must be a little bit more, right? Or at the very least, they don’t view it as something not worth discussion and strategy.
Next time someone’s family member dies, just remind them that Earth is just 1 planet amongst billions of light years of space and that their life and their family member’s life isn’t even a blip on the radar of the universe, let alone a meaningful thing to be upset about.
It’s not very nice. But if any of my alliance mates left due to people doing so I’d be like “Oh, okay bro. Hope you’re happy there.”
And I would know the person who left wasn’t a loyal teammate to begin with OR didn’t mesh well with my alliance.
Either way if many just up and left due to this tactic it shows that something is wrong with the direction of where the alliance is headed rather than the player itself.
And if it’s just that 1 player it reflects on him/her alone and his/her reasons for leaving.
All in all, we should look at these situations as a test of loyalty and strength of your alliance rather than hate on the person who tries to “poach”, since players also have their own reasons for changing alliances.
Or we can start or join an NGO against poaching. Something like this: http://www.iapf.org/en/
I’m sure they can find it in their hearts to add MPQ to it. Good players are hard to come by nowadays.
