It’s been a while since our last community challenge, and with 2 Star Spider-Horse (Widow) racing into MARVEL Puzzle Quest, we figured there was no better time to bring them back!

To celebrate the release of our newest 2-Star character, we’re inviting the entire MPQ community to saddle up and work together toward a shared goal. Every time you level up, add covers, Champion, Max Champion, or Ascend Spider-Horse (Widow), you’ll help push the community closer to the finish line and unlock rewards for everyone along the way.

The track is set, the goal is in sight, and now it’s up to the community to see how fast we can make Spider-Horse (Widow) a champion. Check out the full Neighborhood Trot details below and help us race toward the finish line!

Meh. That’s pretty low rewards. Especially on the race to 5star. Is that contest why you removed the 2as4 from the vault? To make it harder for people to compete for middling stuff?

Even worse is that this Horse is going to HAVE to be nerfed so why will people be trying to ascend until they know what that will actually look like?!?!?

I already have every support unlocked so it doesn’t matter to me, but people have been waiting for a community challenge for a chance to win one of the 2 stones that haven’t been offered up yet, and instead the big reward is a mediocre support that anyone can pull from a random support token.

It’s like you guys are trying to find ways to make this game less and less exciting.

While I agree the rewards are lackluster, it’s nice to see community challenges return. Especially one that doesn’t really take much direct effort other than just playing the game. Hopefully this is the start of a return to these with better rewards (the 2 missing stones as otherwise mentioned)

Are these community rewards the exact same as another challenge we already did? I know we did one with the the Soul stone reward before and I swear we did one with the the 2 star Totem Dagger as well.

I feel like anyone capable of competing for the Bonus Challenge will not find benefit from a single one of the rewards being offered. I don’t see that bundle driving anyone to really go for it.

These community challenges really need an in-game leaderboard, which would also keep us all apprised of the current status.

I’ll put horseface in my easy pve teams, but I really think we’re going to fall crazy short lol. Like, maybe get 5% of the way there

I feel bad for S0kun with how negative things are right now, but ho boy is this new studio / approach to things making difficult not to be. Ill do my context thing Ive been doing lately, even though if anything, it is maybe only making things worse?

Your bonus 100 rewards is where the best stuff is, at least for anyone who isnt end game roster. To ascend Horse to 5, you would currently need at MINIMUM 28k HP (high percentage its more) OR like 80 usd (or a mixture of both) JUST to get 4 copies of the 3 star.

Now, you need at minimum 426 more covers to get them there. Only way to make the top 100 is surely cover swaps, so, roughly 30-40k HP in cover swaps.

Now, the people that can afford to do that, dont really need the rewards you are offering. So who are you trying to excite with that part? Maybe just my experience, but my entire alliance cant even justify the cost of roster slots for 2 copies, let alone the any of the other stuff noted. Just feels, weird?

I have been playing this game pretty heavily since it was released (notably with a 2 to 3 year break in the middle), Ive surely spent over 1000 usd, and I currently just baaaarely have three 2 stars finally hit 5 star (2 of them are also just bad so I cant use them anyway).

Linda honey, listen, listen… I unloaded and got both 4 star versions of White Tiger when her vault released (someone surely knows exactly how long ago that was). I have been placing top 20 in PVE and ususlly 25 wins top 50ish PvP for every single tournament since she released. I even swapped like 15 covers for her before I started hating myself for it. She is still MONTHS away from being 5 star, and thats assuming I go min max and screw myself out of rewards.

If you read my previous posts (I dont blame you if you didn’t) you now also know that every one of these 2 stars, doesnt really provide any playable value outside of DeadpoolDaily until they hit 5 star.

I would love for someone on the inside to provide thoughts and or data about how the hell any of this should be exciting within the next 360 days, becsuse Im just not seeing it. All that said! I still dont feel you owe me any answers, just 1 mans perspective for a team receiving a ton of flak.

Im actually quite glad to see another community event (I even like the horse racing reference!), but for the love of god and all that is holy, give people without endless HP a chance to get this character to usable and or some side fun for them, because right now, the deepest pockets win (which is fine I suppose if thats the plan, but a special edition costume or something would likely get their attention better?)

I totally look forward to egg on my face tomorrow when you release a reasonably attainable 4 star version.

Having all the stones is nice from a collector viewpoint…

But they just kind of sit there for nostalgia.

Power creep moved beyond them a while ago. Some have uses but there’s usually a better option.

I can see where those missing stones would want a chance to acquire them though.

As for the rewards…

I like community challenges generally, but this doesn’t make me care to give additional effort to the game.

The character is ridiculous, yet super powerful, but will get nerfed, but will likely still outshine long term established characters, but ascending him was made more difficult, but that could change with future vaults/offers, but the rewards aren’t worth rushing with the obvious nerf coming…

The risk assessment just isn’t worth the time.

If it were Fantomex, I might be inclined to care, if it were Old Man Hawkeye, I’d spend money, GLA?.. Ridiculous but there’s history. A spider horse? I just don’t get it.

Just my opinion. Congrats to those enjoying him. I’ll cover him and move on.

Plus side because I don’t want to be all negative: he’s not locking tiles. So that’s good.

And he’s incredibility fun to play. The stuns and board shake get out of hand but when you can already win first turn, who cares.

If you’re interested in a comparison of White Tiger progress, I think it was September she was launched. I’m usually top 100 PvE and top 50 PvP and mine is level 234.

I think that translates to having pulled about 200 covers in 8 months.

I have pulled and paid for every 2 star release until now to get two copies of 2a4.

I’ve been a t25/t50 player in PvE (Guild and personal placement). My White tiger is 2a4 at 344 and that second one is waiting at 271 ready to get to 450.

That said, this new approach actually will make me spend less resources and money. Getting a 2a3 just isn’t appealing for the same price/resources as 2a4.

As someone said before, [x]a4 have large appeal and many players are willing to do daily quests/spend $/use resources for a chance to get them. Including me. But with 2a3, my response is just… Meh… why bother?

So, in the end I will likely spend less than if it would have been the old approach. Unless I’m an extreme outlier on this, that surely can’t be good?

Oh, and as a side node. If there was a good reason to get my 200k HP pool back down to zero, I would probably start buying an Asgard Treasure again every month for $50, like I did before. But since there is no good reason to spend tons of HP, why would I?

With a 2 star why would you want to go max/max at the 4 star level before ascending? It costs 300 covers to max that 2nd copy. You are far better off reward wise doing min/max and spending those 300 covers at the 5 star level for better rewards for your covers. Pus you’ll have the character at the 5 star level where you really want her to be.

The community challenges desperately need some kind of tracker in game. 99% of players won’t even know this exists. At least give us an announcement in the game! (And yes, I know the announcement thingy is broken).

It’s not that big a deal, because the rewards aren’t that big a deal, but if you guys are going to all this trouble to run them, why not let everybody know they’re happening?

I’m going max/max with anyone that I’m not using regularly. Might as well be patient and get all the rewards.
