Seriously, I don’t think it could. If it did, everyone would delete the game or smash their phones/computers. What do you think the devs could do to make this worse than they have? IceIX, take notes.
What is this, about the 20th post made about the same subject? You could have just replied to the threads that are still ongoing about the same subject.
Wishful thinking - I thought the one that messed up the algorithm of the pve event would take responsabilty and stick to work on Saturday as an apology to fix this mess, and you can well see how it went.
IceIX says he reads pretty much all the posts in every thread, but it looks like he is doing the majority of the work, so it’s probably hard to keep up with all the player demands. They also can’t just send in a patch that magically fixes these things in a day, it actually takes time with various tests, so it’ll probably be a while before we see some results.
An apology letter from the game devs saying ''Guys, we know we’ve messed up, but we’ve learned from our mistakes and we’ve remade the game and this time we’ve got it right. We’re calling it Marvel Puzzle Quest An Account Reborn. Now, in the spirit of fair play, we’ve wiped all your saves so you can all start fresh on equal grounds. Please look forward to rediscovering the joy of getting your first 2* hero."
You sound like an undercover Dev. I do, however sympathize with the Devs, as it’s obviously hard to take your game from fun and exciting to play, with new content and covers in a reasonable amount of time, to it’s current state. “Broken” is not the best way to put it, but maybe “not working as intended”. They wanted to balance things for the new players to compete and win, everyone knows that it’s exciting to be a top placed winner. They wanted to do away with tanking, and have done that to an extent in their PvP, but make it mandatory in the PvE levels. The cards they are nerfing were required for us to finish the prolog missions, but we abused their powers in PvP and new players without this unbeatable combo complained. We did that to ourselves, however, if the MMR was fixed, new players wouldn’t complain that they were defeated by so many thorvorine teams, as they wouldn’t even be seeing them. The turn they took towards a pay-to-win strategy is disheartening, to say the least. I am a free player. I have never payed my hard earned money to support this game, even though many ppl I know have (Including my wife). I started playing this game despite not liking the match-3 genre because I liked the PSP version of Puzzle Quest. The way they are going, it is starting to be a clone of all the other match-3 games (Candy Crush anyone?). I don’t see why they need to make so many changes to a game that nobody feels need to be done. If it’s just money, I’m sure people will let their own wallets speak for them and not pay (or not pay anymore) and maybe they genuinely will take our suggestions to heart. Listen to the veterans of the game, and don’t ignore the new players either. Make it easier for new players to attain the covers they need to be competitive, instead of killing off the established players roster. Make new covers available to the better players for tournament placement, and then trickle down the card releases so that the new players can eventually win these cards through a PvE event. Don’t force people to gain these covers to play an event, and if you do, make it POSSIBLE to get at least one of those covers while playing that event so you can compete. Thick as Thieves was the first event where I didn’t gain a single new cover. I fell victim of the 230 bugginess of scaling and could not make a go of it. I shouldn’t be punished in the next event as well. The scaling has to be fixed. As for the original intent of this post, I do believe it could get worse. Keep up the arbitrary “funbalancing” and it could get much, much worse. Find the veteran players and decide to “fix” the popular character that they use that the newer players don’t have and it’ll get worse. I’m hoping they take their previous success in pulling in a player base and truly find out what the people that play this game want.
They shouldn’t play to new players needs, they should play to loyal players needs. We were new players at one point, but we never had a reason to complain until now.
Anyone who wants to continue doing business NEEDS to listen to their newer customers. It doesn’t mean they need to cater to their every whim though. Fix the things that EVERYONE complains about, new or old player alike.
They could add an entrance fee to everything. Also an ISO costs to enter a battle, maybe 50 ISO so that you could win more but could also end up with the crappy 20 ISO prize too.
The Spider-man nerf which will destroy his stun and healing and the Magneto nerf will make things worse , and once the devs realize everyone is moving to OBW, she will be nerfed too…
I will pay 1000 dollars cash to any person from D3 who lets me into one of their development meetings, seriously I want to know how the hell they come up with these decisions…
I too agree. I don’t buy games to enjoy them. I buy them so i get frustrated and punished for even playing the game in the first place. This is the kind of game that gives people cancer from all the stress. A game is supposed to be enjoyable. A game that is not enjoyable is called a chore.
My kids who did most of the PvE content have given up on the game as well…Not sure who the devs are targeting the game to now, only person I can think of is a masochist.
Don’t joke. Sounds a little too realistic. Ea and madden did exactly that. Took a game called madden social and reskinned it basically and called it madden 25. You could still see old archives from the old game in the “New” game that didn’t work. Ppl complained, but there was nothing they could do. New ppl went to the new game with no knowledge of the shady past. Some like me found out, but most probably did not (game had even worse support than this game…fffaaar worse. Like, without iceIX or the mildly informative weekly updates worse).
