I apologize profusely if this was covered elsewhere on the forums already (did a cursory search with no luck), but I noticed that I received 200 ISO for 20 alliance members playing instead of what used to be 500. I don’t see this listed on a changelog anywhere, and wanted to hear what others have experienced today.
I mean, I won’t be super pissed if the developers decided a free daily 500 ISO was too much, but it was nice while it lasted. Gotta make that money somehow, right?
Not surprising. I’m not going to complain, because I’ve been generally happy with the flow of ISO in the past 3-4 weeks. Especially compared to where it was in early February.
So this is a lesson for d3 to always just start off with fewer rewards and then work their way upwards? Free iso is free iso, and 200 iso is 200 more than you would have gotten otherwise, so I don’t get what the complaining is about: would you prefer that they started off with 50iso and worked their way up to 200? That’s honestly the smarter way to go about this than be generous with starting off at 500 iso, so I guess this is a lesson for them to never start off adding new rewards at a high amount.
I think what happened was just that the values got changed with the update. If you got your reward before the update, you got 500 iso, otherwise 200 iso.
I don’t mind so much that the reward changed – like you say, free iso is free iso. But it is a little annoying that it changed without any warning, just like so many other things in the game. Plus, do we even know if it’s going to stay at 200 iso from now on? Maybe it’s variable – some days it’s 25 per member, some days it’s 10 per member? It’d be nice to know.
Free ISO is always nice, but at this point, 10ISO/head serves no purpose at all. Will that motivate players to play daily? No way. Will 500 ISO/day cause D3 to lose money? Highly doubtful. If I want 200 ISO, I’ll just go play 2 matches in Shield training and waste 5 minutes in the game. They do this all the time. They give something, only to take it back after 2-3 weeks. Erratic actions like this don’t inspire confidence.
I can confirm it is now 10 iso per active alliance member. I dunno free is free and it is a bonus but 25 iso wass hardly going to break the in game economy.
I guess that’s simply a tax we’re paying for introducing the Seasons. As it has happened previously (Alliance rewards, for example), whenever a new source of income appears in the game, another source gets cut down. That’s lame, profoundly lame, to be honest, but seems we need to get accustomed to such actions in the future.
