Isn’t Madness’s whole deal that it can’t be discarded, and gains mana from other discards? I had a Madness card, cast Day’s Undoing, and lost it along with the rest of my hand.
With Day’s undoing, you don’t discard your cards, you shuffle them in the library, I think that’s why madness doesn’t trigger.
