Do you prefer rubberbanding or grinding?

Well most of the other events were also trying to get you not to play, because they had the IW boobie prize at the top

Thank you Christmas break from college!! Lmao!!

Progression rewards were decent enough + Lightning Rounds can easily become a 15+ hour grind.

Your maturity is admirable. But then again you’re a dad! icon_mrgreen.gif

You can’t please all the people all the time.

If I had to choose, I would go with rubberbanding but with some slight tweaks so that it keeps you playing but not to the point where it becomes grindy nor the current system where all that matters is the last 2-3 hours

More and more these forums are turning into Blizzard’s World of Warcraft forums, posts of nerf this, nerf that, even am guilty of it complaining about underpowered characters…

Thanks for compliment sooty. I do try to be reasonable on most occasions but my maturity does still need some work. As you can see from other threads I have plenty of moments where I lose my patience with people! Lol

Voted rubberbanding, because grinding sucks. That said. My vote is for a fixed version of rubberbanding where points don’t drop to zero and two players in the same bracket, with the same score, and playing the same level, always get exactly the same number of points.

I’d just like a form of rubberbanding where it isn’t that the the winning move is not to play

That’s not rubberbanding then

Some sort of cap? Make it so you can catch up, but don’t end up getting More points for not playing

Thinking about it some more… One of the reasons rubberbanding is resulting in the way it is right now is because it’s a hidden mechanic. If everyone knew the rules of the game and how to optimize points, it would eventually devolve into a game of chicken.

They’d have to make mission and progression rewards pretty enticing for people to want to draw first blood.

It might just be me, but I’m pretty OK with not knowing all of the formulas at the start of an event. I think games are WAY more fun if the most optimal strategy is not laid out in front of everybody at the onset. Figuring out the best strategies in a strategy game should be rewarded. I don’t know of any really competitive game where the dev team lays out the optimal strategy for everybody to use.

I don’t know the game which will promote not to play it. I also think that in any game if you play more you will become better in it. So it is like definition of grinding.
Grinding is more painfull and exhausting but if somebody have more time to play the game why not to reward him? Grinding is more fair I think. But in my position right now I prefer rubberbanding. It prefers more casual playing.

PS: I don’t want to be the guy which after first red iso event destroyed the game icon_e_smile.gif
. True that I was grinding this event like crazy but after that event everything is changed and I cannot say that this change is going in right direction

Punish the people who play the game the most doesn’t make sense on any level.

It doesn’t punish the people who play the game, it punishes the people who don’t know how to play the game. Of course, not much information was disclosed on how to play it…

I agree, but eventually everyone will find out. They’d have to constantly mix it up, which I suppose you could say they already are doing.

And I still don’t agree the game punishes those who play the most. If the other 5 events are still not enough, go play Shield Training.

The other events also penalized you for going in to hard, with the single IW cover vs 2/3 3*s

No, not really. Go for 1100+ progression rewards early on then put out a tank team. Just can’t go hard in the final hour or so, but that’s just 2 hours out of a 3 or 5 day event.

Plus some people actually want/need IW. Also, I’m hopeful that a buff is inevitable.

I still think a buff is just wishful thinking. How long has X-force wolvie been out again?

people dont want to grind shield training for garbage progression rewards. people want to invest time into an event with a reward they like and shouldnt be penelized because they have more time to grind than someone who doesnt. The problem with this game is the devs keep trying to please everyone and from what ive seen, ive been playing since day one, the majority of the time the please the casual crowd which would be fine if they gave players that have spent the most time playing some kind of advantage. It doesnt need to be anything crazy and i dont expect to beat people just because i have more time but to put everyone on a level playing field defeats the whole purpose of a P2P game and before people start saying its not P2P then why even have micro transactions? whats the point of buying covers to level up your characters if people can just use boosts and overtake you because of rubberbanding? Whats the point of working towards getting a 4* IW when it doesnt matter if you have her since people that cant play the missions shes featured in can just make up the points anyways? Sure lighting rounds gave a huge advantage to people who have rags, i do not icon_e_sad.gif
but the soulution isnt to make PvE events with rules that dont make sense and encourage people to play less. Hopefully the people that spend money on this game realize now that its a losing proposition and decide not to support it. Dont get me wrong, I love this game with the exception of rubber banding, but the system is seriously flawed. I understand that its growing pains but ive learned my lesson and will be playing alot less now. not that anyone cares lol icon_e_smile.gif
. Guess its time for some netflix icon_e_smile.gif
