I an Elite pack the other day, and got a dup. No surprise, it was a 1/3 chance. I’m in the process of getting a replacement, but as with all interactions with support the process is very painful and they are really driving home the fact that this is a 1-time “service” because they are so nice etc. I better not even think of asking for it again. They will never do it again, ever!
Is there any plan to change the way elite packs work to avoid dups? I’m thinking I should just hold onto my replacement pack until that happens (assuming I ever get it).
I’ve lost all motivation to try for elite packs and dropped out of my top 10 coalition and just play very casually to pick up the easy rewards (that may be a good thing for my free time). It has been a very disheartening experience overall.
They have something planned to address the problem with dupes being near worthless. But they have not announced any plans that will reduce the chance of getting dupes from packs. It’s to their advantage that you keep chasing cards until your bank account is emptied.
I don’t really think it is in their interest. They’re better off if the customer is excited and having fun. In my case elite packs are demoralizing and reduce my fun. I really don’t want to spend a month or two looking forward to the payoff, only to be hugely disappointed. I’m certainly less engaged and less likely to buy something than I was several months ago.
I might be in the minority I guess. Presumably they’re doing customer research to figure out the policy that will make the most money…
