Same here. Was shooting up the ranks and about 20th when the game foobared with the “no events” thing for 5 or so minutes around 8:15. It eventually recovered from that and i got up to 10th place and was fighting to move up a couple spots to secure my position when the connection just stopped working. Then it came back, then it died again, then it started doing weird things like when i tried to skip fights it would leave a blank spot instead of a new match.
So instead of advancing my position i got knocked back down to 12. I managed to get two more fights in right at the end, and if that didn’t get me back up into 10th place i’m going to be rather pissed.
And it’s confirmed, i got top 25, not top 10. I was in 11th place when i started that last match, after several minutes of failing connections in which i could have been fighting matches.
I have to presume this was due to them uploading the huge series of updates for the new SHIELD events, which to me shows poor planning their part. They should never be applying major updates during the last hour of a tourney. I’ll definitely be sending them an email about this.
Got a top 25 reward for Army of one, but missed the opportunity for Top 10 due to the game outage. I think the solution is to extend the reward from 3-10 to 3-20 so that everyone who could have had a chance at the extra rewards would be compensated appropriately.
Confirmed for me, too. Rather than just looking out for me (was at 792 and #10 pre-drop), I think d3 should just give everyone on tier on Ao1 and Savage Land and one progressive higher award on Ao1. Many folks got affected, even those at lower tiers than myself.
The only “losers” would be those who placed Top 2 getting nothing more than they got, and the only people getting extra and above would be those who might get Moonstone and a GSBW . I can live with them getting that.
So, 3 days, 23 hours, 56 minutes after mailing them, I got my first human response.
I got mail yesterday morning that they’re looking into it. That’s the entirety of the detail. Ice seemed to know about this the day it happened; I hope they talk to him.
