Last Gauntlet I had about eight nodes at 395 without a single character leveled above 166. 5* characters have nothing to do with it. The Gauntlet is just brutal that way. Too much so, I think. (Though I actually had fewer 395 nodes this time, and now do have several characters above 166, go figure).
Anyway, I finished this morning, using Whales twice. I just don’t have the tools for defeating a Jean Grey that’s leveled that high (my best teams rely too much on characters that make match-fives). The Quicksilver essential was the worst of them, on account of having to bring Quicksilver along.
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll manage it. I just don’t have the patience. Getting the Gauntlet done early means being able to take a proper break from the game without missing anything.
If anyone is interested in seeing a (nearly) complete list of all the nodes and their rewards, I kept a google doc spreadsheet open as I played through and recorded my progress. I still have to go back and do the leg 1 and leg 2 essentials, so those aren’t filled in yet. I should get to those sometime later today.
I probably should have also made a note of what team I used to beat each node, but didn’t think of that until later. Towards the end it was a lot of fist-buster and XFWolverine+XFDeadpool. The highlighted reward for each node is what I pulled my first time through…marvel at the sheer amount of Crit boosts! Unfortunately, not a

Does anyone have any tips for Sim 30? Beast is on the team I’ve been using for most of the Simulator (Beast, 2* Carol, GSBW), so that team is out. My roster in my sig is up to date, and I have Professor X(Yellow), 4* Cyclops (Red), and Surfer (Red) as pending rewards.
Based on your roster I would use GSBW, Thor, and 2* Storm. Focusing on Storm’s green, you can set up an infinite turn engine and beat pretty much anything in the game with that team (I used 2* Storm on one of my 395 nodes!). You may want match damage boosts to try to get rid of Hood asap.
Thanks, that one did the trick. Though since I was mostly using 2*s until the last week or so, it felt weird to have Thor as a battery and not my main attacker.
Any advice for the 4*
essential node? Unfortunately, my XFDP is 2/0/1, so he’s not much use, nor are any of my other 4*s. My go-to teams (Cage/Daken/IF; Cyke/CMarvel/KK; Hood/Cap/OBW) obviously don’t work here, either. I’m guessing my best bet is still Cage/IF since they’re a formidable duo, but they just can’t keep up with the damage that is being dished out.
In general, is it advisable to take down HBIM first → Starlord → Mr. Fantastic?
Yep, I fell pretty hard. Put up a fight and took down IMHB, but not before Star Lord’s punch took down XFDP and then a Repulsor Punch took down Hulk. Patch had no chance.
The three are feeders, so if you have not a thief is very hard to pass that node. Depending on your level you can use IW / OBW / LHT. IW hides OBW and puts his shield with yellow. OBW steals HP and delays Mischief if you have bad luck. Torch will be the attacker.
I did not use any whale because I have a good rooster.
Hulk bombing is not IMHB. That is just a silly response.
Hulkbombing is Hulk plus patch with Anger at 5 covers. Use Berserker Rage and make a match to put Hulk out front. Enemy attacks will now cause green cascades which leads to more BR and Hulk’s Anger damage is now boosted from all the strike tiles. It’s basically using Hulk as a sacrificial lamb to inflict chaos on the enemy.
