Why are Daredevil and Quicksilver thrown in here? And why no 2☆ essential?

Does anybody think Ms. Marvel will be essential? Currently I’m not rostering her and I was planning to empty the prize queue… but didn’t want to sell all her covers before knowing she is not necessary!
Even last time there were some essential nodes featuring “unexpected” characters (Lcap and scarlet witch if I’m not wrong).It seems to be a Gauntlet feature…
I’m also curious about the essentials. I’m on sim 21, just shy of the essentials of the second Gauntlet (i call it “medium” level).
Last time the 4* prize was 4thor so I was unmotivated to shoot for it. Now, I want prof x. Has anyone that’s advanced further please communicate who the essentials are???
Great. Another way they have devised for us not to be able to whale the last node of hell they cooked up.
Favorite team ups for this? I am struggling a bit.
Edit: I just switched to SW, IF, LC with +2 purple, +2 yellow, and that seems to help quite a bit with guantlet 1. Not getting to use any boosted characters with this though.
SW blue/purple feeds IF purple, which turns to black to feed LC to knock everyone out.
So who managed to beat the last node of sub 2 without resorting to whales. I for one did not.
3 star captain america, scarlet witch and mystique. Stuns for the win against the last sub of round 2 which were about level 289 for me.
I only have 2 whales saved up and I have like 10 nodes left in sub 3. I might be doomed. Wish I had that Charlie’s Angels team right about now, but I can’t even beat this sub to get the PX cover.
Ldaken, Patch, Loki. All color boosts.
I think I probably did 80% of all nodes in Gauntlet that way. Absolutely love that team.
I can never work out how to trigger whales
Do any nodes drop CP?
It was hard but not impossible. I can’t even remember who I did it with and possibly it was with some under leveled 3* randoms. My scaling was at 245 so certainly it wasn’t a walk in the park but I had far more problems with the Scarlet Witch feeding Deadpool whales.
Gauntlet is my FAVORITE PVE and this is the 2nd one in a row where I have not had the luck to obtain the required 4* prior to PVE. That sucks. At least in other PVE, if you are missing a required character, grinding will allow you to make up those extra points missed for that required node. There is NO way to obtain the last progression reward in Gauntlet if you are missing any of the required toons.
Angeles (with prof at 4 blue covers) got me through middle gountlet but not the hard one. You will face, GSBW, Wanda, Prof X and Jean Grey so there are at least 4 non esentials where the Angels don’t work.
On other topics - I rage quite this edition of gountlet. I have still 2 non esentials and all 6 essensials to do and none of my teams if capable of competing. Why??? Because I was unlucky to get Surfer and Phoenix (SS - 2 covers and Phenix 1). That lead to 395 lvl opponents. Against my 166 3* team (I don’t have 4* developed yet - Hulkbuster at 4-4-2 is my best one). Soooo uncool D3, so tinykitty uncool. 
Think yourself lucky, my 9 cover lvl 127 kingpin is my highest levelled character (with the exception of my 1 cover OML) and my scaling is at 201. Can’t even beat node 3 of sub 2.
I definitely beat it but I can’t remember who with. Most likely Loki / Daredevil / KK which has been my go-to so far. Opponents were at around lvl 235 I think
No whales used so far, but have now hit a bit of a wall against Cage/Fist/Blade (convinced I can do this with Shulk / KK / Loki or Mystique with the right board, but hasn’t happened yet
Also stuck on the last Quicksilver essential at that point - Fury/Kingpin/someone else?

I was so excited for a run at the gauntlet, specifically to get a 4* cover. Unfortunately I have no XFDP so I guess the event is over before it even started for me. I’ll be playing each sub until I get all the tokens in the misguided hope that I will pull XF-Deadpool.
This Gauntlet was the easiest I’ve ever played. In less than a day I completed all nodes. Almost all were first and no I needed to play for the third time. Galactus had not, but I’m happy with my yellow PX. Just I found it odd that the pve had no CP. Gauntlet is the event that more like pve. In addition to having us challenging not need to grind.
