I never take the time to put a review on any game at all, but this time I can’t help myself to do it.
If we don’t raise our voice, there’s no way in hell we are going to be listened to. I know it’s obvious, but I also know most of the player base is not too vocal about anything at all, even if they are also disappointed about the course the company is taking towards the game.
I will review the game and hopefully you will too, I won’t tell you what to do with your review (if you love it as it is right now, go ahead and give it 5 stars).
For me, I know I will write about the main issues I have with it:
Abysmal drop rate
Stupidly broken and unfair cards
Rampage cheating
THE worst matchmaking system I have ever encountered. Ever.
But that’s me, if you want to be listened as well then take the time and review the game if you haven’t done it yet.
I sort of feel like this is as close to the “nuclear option” as players can get in this game, so maybe mass reviews should be held until we hear from the people above Brigby’s paygrade make their decision re the previous update?
I mean, to be honest the game is really addictive and fun. Despite constantly trying to ruin the game, its still enjoyable.
That being said, the dev’s are doing nothing to enhance that fun. They don’t incentivize us to build innovative or fun decks, they don’t provide real challenges with true PvP, but rather a totally inept AI, they have removed the intensity of trying to get a top 5 finish for a great prize or a top place for a cool coalition prize. Honestly, they just stripped the fun out of the game with the last patch.
I for one don’t mind the drop rates. If I had every card in the game I probably would stop playing. I don’t think its a good idea to let the players get whatever card they want. Not only is chasing hard to get cards what makes the game addictive, its also what makes D3 money.
I’ve been slowly downgrading my original 5 star review as time goes on. I’ve hit 1 star now, and there doesn’t seem to be anywhere lower to go in the rankings, which is a shame, because I’m sure D3 aren’t out of egregious ideas yet.
just looked at the app store. rating for magic all versions is mostly 5 star ratings. rating for this vertsion is 90% 1 star. I think that paints a pretty strong picture. ya went downhill D3.
the only 5 star rating I was able to find on IOS was someone that moved from android to ios who is looking for help getting their account linked. I imagine that one will drop if they don’t get help soon.
I don’t think it’s a 1 star game. Even though I’m playing a lot less after the changes, it’s still fundamentally fun. What’s changed is that while before I was willing to overlook the rougher aspects of the game (terrible matchmaking, no deck slots, slow interface, poor documentation, etc) in hopes that the devs were going to improve the game over time, it now instead looks like they are making it worse. So I’m less forgiving of the things holding the game back. I feel like it’s probably a 3 or 4 star game now. It’s fun and scratches the MtG itch, but if you want an actually all-around good game, go get one of the many 5 star games that exist.
