I didn't want the Torch...

Apparently I finished within the top 101-200 and got Human Torch, despite me leaving the game alone for the last few hours. I was at #180-ish and was expecting to be pushed back into the 202-300 bracket for a green Ares cover+150 iso+50 hp. This might be the first time I’m not happy about keeping my place in ranking. I was aiming for the Ares cover so I could finally level my lv 6 Ares but now I have three covers waiting (2* Cap, GS.BW, Torch) and no roster space.

Anyone else feeling this way?

He’ll likely be ESSENTIAL in some upcoming pve node, so you’ll likely get mileage out of it soon if you find a slot for HT.

I always like having a new character. I think he will be the key to getting both Über Daken covers from the next event.

I did something similar when I was angling for 2 star covers in tourneys. I’d play as high as possible the first night, then see how far I dropped the next day, then plan to go only so high so I could sink down to an OBW or cStorm cover by the end. (Limited roster space and I want to max specific characters.) It worked, it was a lot easier to gauge that sort of thing in the one star bracket. But one time I overshot my mark and ended up with some Punisher covers, who I didn’t want at all. But it’s a good thing I hung on to them because he’s always a node requirement in PVE events.

That did occur to me, but now it makes me wonder if I should get rid of 3* cap to free up a slot? Or give up 2* cap. I’ve been toying with the idea of selling my Jugs since I hardly ever use him anyway. I recently bought a slot which I ended up using for Daken because I got covers from the SHIELD reward+a token+mission reward.

Do spend on slots, it might well become your first and only investment in MPQ but it will pay off, since every character might get an uber-buff/be required, etc. in any event. Not so much for Bagman and Yelena, of course. If I could spend 10 bucks on slots back when in the same situation as you, I definitely would.

At this point, my slots now cost 250 HP. I could probably afford $5 for HP but as of right now, I’m really not able spend. Otherwise I definitely would buy HP for slots.

At 38 covers, a new slot costs 500. Enjoy that 250 while it lasts.

Gah. I better start saving up then.

Human Torch will be featured very soon. Don’t regret your accidentally high placement. You’ll almost certainly get a lot of mileage out of that single McHottie cover. If you only have a single-cover Ares right now, getting a McHottie cover is much better. The way MPQ events are now set up, with freshly won covers being featured/required in subsequent events, most events are part of a big set of positive feedback loops. For example, the previous PvE gave out Mr. Rogers rewards. This just-ended one had nodes with Mr. Rogers as a requirement. The next one, “Hotshot”, will feature McHottie. Similarly, the previous PvP gave out GSBW rewards. The current one features her, and has Psylocke rewards. Positive feedback loops.

Definitely keep 3* Cap. Do not get rid of him. He will most likely be featured/required a few more times yet, which means more Iso, HP, and covers for you. Again, positive feedback loop. He’s a great character in absolute terms, too. Juggs won’t be featured in anything but a 1* tourney or a 1*-centric PvE event. Those are fairly rare. Not knowing the rest of your roster, definitely don’t keep Bagman, Yelena. Almost definitely don’t keep CHawkeye, MHawkeye, Bullseye, and Loki.

Daken is good. Try to keep Daken. 3* Dakenator will likely be an absolute monster (much like LThor).

As others have said here, get as many roster slots as you can. That should be the only thing you spend HP on until you have maybe 25 slots, minimum. You could always use more roster slots. I just bought my 32nd slot for Human Torch. I have crappy placeholder characters in a couple of slots, but I like to have a bit of buffer room in my roster if I can afford it, just in case.

I don’t see Torch being below Psylocke class, so even without considering the fact that he’s almost certain to be featured soon, any Psylocke class 3* is well worth keeping.

Same here…The torch I just won was my 32nd slot. Wasn’t passing up on adding him as we all well now, he’ll be required in something soon enough.

Yep. I gave Bagman and Yelena a couple tries and it was definitely a no-go so I sold them, even before I found the forum. I had an MHawkeye that I used for the last powered-up event but sold him afterwards. I still have my CHawkeye because I’m still transitioning to 2* heroes (and there’s a bit of sentimentality there). Right now my IM35 is 40, MStorm is 38, CStorm is 30, MBW is 28, CHawkeye is 21-ish(? I forget), Thor is 21, and everyone else is 15 or below. (Psylocke, Hulk, Ragnarok, Ares, A.Wolverine, MNMags, L Cap, OBW, Daken, Juggs)

Yup! I’ve been reading around the forum and it’s the main reason I decided to keep Daken.

Ah, okay, you’re earlier in your progression than I’d expected.

CHawkeye is still useful in 1* teams for countdown-tile clearing. MStorm is great at general board clearing. Never get rid of her. You’ll still be relying on IM35-MStorm-MBW for a while yet, but definitely try to get covers for every newly released 3*. The one exception to that rule is OBW: OBW is very, very (very) good. MPQ seems to be offering quite a few covers for each character in quick succession, so given persistence and luck (outside of lucky token pulls), you can actually start legitimately building a 3* team.

If you can’t get around freeing up some roster space, Juggs might be the best choice to let go, seeing that he is barely leveled. CHawkeye I’d consider a close second, your team of IM35, MStorm and MBW should do fine in almost all situations until you are able to transit to 2* heroes.

Yep. I quit playing it at least 12 hours before it ended. HP is just too few and far between to keep up with the flow of new characters. And since the price increases with every slot, I refuse to spend any more real money on HP. Already got burned on that early on before I realized return customers get continual price hikes. Interesting commentary on a game when my best option is to not play…

But everyone knows: “The only winning move is not to play” icon_idea.gif

Consider dumping Juggs because the chances of using him again are slim.

The only times you’ll probably use him are on a 1* tourney or a villain tourney.

2* Cap is pretty useless as far as PVP goes but tends to be buffed in a lot of PVE events.

So is that a go or a no? As far as keeping 2* Cap, considering the limited roster space.

Dump him. 2* Cap is one of the most common pulls from heroic and event tokens. He is the character we usually get when we really want something else.
