My only championed 4* is Hulkbuster. I know it’s just weird luck, but lately half the time I’ve gotten a 5* it’s been 5* Iron Man. He’s now my most covered 5* at 3/1/2. I really wish the devs would allow us, even just in some events, to use different versions of the same character on a team. Not being able to causes so many issues. For a long time X-Force Wolverine was my only usable 4*. My only really usable 5* is my OML at 1/2/2. Since getting OML XFW has pretty much become irrelevant. He’s sat at level 199 forever now and I’ve even sold off extra covers for him instead of spending all that ISO to level up a 4* that I’d rarely if ever use afterward because OML would almost always be the better choice. I dread getting more 5* IM covers because I don’t want the same thing to happen to Hulkbuster.
I know it wouldn’t make much sense thematically, but a lot in this game doesn’t to begin with (see Juggernaut vs basically anyone). Maybe they could call them clones or something. At least, with Iron Man it would make sense as Tony has often called in unmanned armor to help him in the past.
I definitely think it would help the game see more varied character usage, which seems to be something the devs have always said they wanted.
Imagine the fun of using IM40 with Hulkbuster. Recharge > Repulsor Punch > Hulk-Proof > Repeat.
I cant tell you how many times Ive tried to select Hulkbuster and IM40.
OML and patch would be fun too
Replace BOP with an event where you can use every character, including “clones” (of course without the “lvl 550 for everyone” rule).
It would be much more interesting as a “fun (off-season) event”.
How about one where you have to use 3 different versions of the same character? Wolverine, Iron Man, Storm, Black Widow, Spiderman, Thor, Hulk or Captain America? Of course, most people would use OML/XFW/Patch. But Iron Man would be pretty strong too.
Team Iron Man (considering the bonus on red for IM 5*) would be nasty…
but I like the approach “you’re allowed to use them” instead of “you need to use them” (because too many characters - and roster combinations - would be locked out of the event).
I’d like it if there was a 3* or even 2* Jean Grey so that Phoenix was an option. She’d probably be clunky and slow, but a fun option.
