I’ve fought Kaecilius 4 times to defeat him and, only in the last fight, I’ve noticed that every match of his special tiles is taking only about 1600 hp. I have the impression that in the last run of this event, this amount was something around 5000. Anyone else noticed this?
I didn’t read the description and I didn’t realize it’s a lot worse if you have friendly tiles on the board. I’ve finally defeated him with Black Widow, Hulk and Colossus (all 3*). But I killed all my good characters before that.
nice job MPQ. it’s nice to know you provide jobs to chimps
I know this forum is a police state but I really really want to yell at the nope who changed Kaecellius this much without telling us and also GIVE ME MY ELITE TOKEN ALLIANCE REWARDS BACK. this used to be my favorite PVE but I guess they don’t want people to actually have FUN when they play this game
Coulson, Witch, and Quicksilver got it done for me, but everyone took a beating. Two different powers to swap tiles around means, once you get rolling, no strike tile stays on the board past its first turn. Still. K gets to move the board at least once with a strike tile out, and those things hurt unboosted 3* something awful.
I’m quitting (Edit: the K battles), the reduced damage is absolutely ridiculous. There’s nothing fun about seeing entire teams getting wrecked because you need to match seventeen strike tiles to win against an active opponent. Even with recommended teams, you’re still relying on RNG and as we all know the odd’s with RNG is generally against your favor.
I’ll do what I can do in the PvE nodes but I’m not stressing myself out over 7k ISO. This is a severely poor design decision.
Coulson, Mr F and Quicksilver did the trick for me. Lots of controlled tile switching around helped a lot, as did the shields from Mr F. All three survived one of his Forbidden Power shots, but not by much. Quicksilver ended the match with about 700 health left.
I was wondering the same thing, this match is taking way longer than usual. Waiting for him to create strike tiles and then having them produced in the corner of the board, oh no!
fight based on pure luck only, nothing else
you get the good match
and he places the tiles at the good places, you win. or else you die, whatever your comp, your heroes, you level
stupid, pathetic job
This was never the easiest fight but now it is very painful. The idea of a mini-game is good but this mini-game doesn’t work as it is TOO powers dependent AND TOO luck dependent at the same time. What do newer players who don’t have Mr F and Coulson?
You can survive a Forbidden Power IF there are no strike tiles on board. Only way to do that is if you can match every one of them as they appear. Otherwise you have to defeat him before he can charge that power.
Either make the fight easier or the reward appropriate for achieving the most difficult task in the game.
Fight is definitely a slog now. Or rather, more of a slog than before. Finally found a combo that seems to do okay, 3* team of Sam Wilson, The Hood and She-Hulk. The Hood and She-Hulk to keep him from firing any powers, Sam Wilson to boost protect tiles until I manage to make all 17 strike tile matches.
How does your Hood survive that fight? I suppose the protect tiles help out, but Redwing would make the fight go even longer since he’s taking away some of the strike tiles you need to match.
The Hood survives on luck. I try to help by first focusing on purple to get protect tiles out and green to stave off forbidden power, then yellow to boost protect tiles until normal damage does 1 point per attack. Ideally in a pinch you can get enough green to spam she-hulk’s power until you drain black. But with the Hood’s health so low, when Kaecilius is able to get off forbidden power then the Hood is guaranteed to go down, even with a ton of boosted protect tiles.
fyi: that team got wiped earlier today: she-hulk green drained everything but black and once the hood was down the rest followed. Next I tried Patch, Peggy and Jessica Drew. Patch to generate extra strike tiles, Jessica to dodge attacks and Peggy to help delay forbidden power just a little bit longer. Patch survived full health, Peggy with about 2/3rds and Jessica with 1/2.
