Kiora always had only one goal in mind: keeping the seas of her world protected from the threats coming from outside. She traveled from plane to plane honing her control over the seas. In the plane of Theros, Kiora fought and defeated the Goddess Thassa and took her bident, augmenting her own power over the tides. Kiora helped the fight against the Eldrazi after trying to fight them alone, and went back to Zendikar to help fight the Phyrexian invasion.
