Leader & Enters the Battlefield Effects

It is still not clear to me how the two should interact. Should “enters the battlefield” triggers occur when a token entering the battlefield reinforces a leader creature or not?

The explicit example I have here is the interaction between Graveyard Marshall, Diregraf Colossus and any zombie token generator (From Under the Floorboards, Stir the Sands, Graf Harvest, etc.)

If Graveyard Marshall reinforces naturally (by casting a copy that reinforces the original), Diregraf Colossus triggers and it gets +2/+2. However, if I cast a Stir the Sands with Marshall out, while the Marshall gets reinforced, Colossus does not benefit from the ETB trigger.

Would REALLY help to understand how these triggers should behave so we can better understand what is a bug and what isn’t.
Thanks!

I believe it was confirmed that a Leader triggering is not supposed to activate any ETB.

Not saying its right, just that it probably isn’t a bug

Playing the new Ajani with the cat leader vs mistweaver? the other day almost creatureless… If the tokens were exiled before triggering leader it would end up being even worse than it is now. In terms of Magic’s back and forth, pros and cons, the current behaviour of leader has both pluses and minuses and it probably best left how it is.

Misty is still a huge help vs leader decks because they don’t have the leader out 100% of the time, but if things change it could just completely break that type of deck.

Mistcaller does not prevent tokens reinforcing leader after the leader is already out, correct?

Correct and, as of yet, nothing has been confirmed regarding Leaders and how they function regarding ETB effects or reinforcing while disabled.

Hi everyone, Tokens used to reinforce a Leader are exiled immediately and do not technically enter the battlefield. Due to this, the enter the battlefield effects will not be triggered by said Tokens. Hopefully this helps to clear up some of the confusion.

good to know that ETB effects are not triggered by tokens if a leader card is present, but WHY??? a deck built around a leader card is often being built around the effects of the tokens entering the battlefield. to squash those effects once the leader card is present seems wrong. a leader card should be adding more to the effects of a deck, not detracting. e.g. verdant force no longer receiving +1/+1 from saprolings once slimefoot shows up. same scene with sram, senior edificer and the thopters and marwyn, the nurturer and her elves. i worked so hard to get these leader cards, and was so seriously bummed when i discovered the decks i had built around them while i was waiting were actually worse off once i put them in. having prized amalgam no longer reappear from the graveyard once graveyard marshal is on the field was the hardest pill to swallow, though. we shouldn’t have to choose between a leader card and the token effects. the leader should be a boon that synergizes the deck further rather than taking away from it. just sayin’.
