MPQ player survey

I can’t be doing with QR codes and all that so for anybody like me you can also use the link in the announcement forum. Anyway…I went to fill it out and the first question was what is my date of birth? OK, let me just type that i…you have to manually scroll to it??? From today’s date??? I don’t think I have that much time on earth left!

This is me by the time I get to the next question

I’ve made it to June 2018 and I need a scrolling break…my god I have decades to go!!!

Yes, poor design. I also appreciated having to check “Other” as my country, because they couldn’t be bothered to use the standard country selector.. Ugh.

Also the arbitrary 3 selection limit on which avenues you use for keeping up with MPQ. Guess I won’t select the forum because they can infer that from the fact I filled in the survey.

And the funny question “Did Unity change your behaviour of play” includes “I quit”.. who is filling that in? People that quit but keep hanging around forums and socials just to hate comment? That category is gonna have some skewed results

Oh god…I’ve made a terrible mistake…if you exit the page it RESETS ITSELF!!! I’m back on 2026! Even the Avengers weren’t this bad at time travel!

I was dumbfounded scrolling the date at 1st, then realized tapping the year at the upper display (the one further up, not the one in the box with month and day) then it switched the scrolling to year only. Much faster, but still, not intuitive at all…

My apathy has reached such levels I couldn’t be bothered to answer anything that was more than a click. Games dead, we all know it. I’m just running the clock down out of habit until it dies or I do.

Maybe this means they’ll get the in game news working again? I’m really questioning the logic of a QR code you can’t scan without a second device, the age picker, and seriously asking active players if they quit over Unity!?!

On the one had I feel obligated to answer since I want the game to continue, but it also feels like this whole thing is a farce & they’ll get no relevant data no matter what we do. Are they modeling the game design after the U.S. presidential election process?

Upon reflection it seems likely they can’t make a link work from in game so they did the QR code. You can screenshot it and click on it from your Photos if needed to get to the site. But if you’re reading this you would just use the link here.

Idk how many people will bother trying that hard since it isn’t clickable. If I was a 1-7 day or a couple months in player, I sure wouldn’t.

I do appreciate them gathering data but it would be nice to feel better about their ability to improve game performance etc. since that’s the biggest issue.

And no, the game design is not as bad as the US electoral system, which was originally designed to exclude as many people as possible and only allow white male landowners to vote.

I didn’t have a problem with the date thing. I was able to just type mine in.

I did have to use blue’s screenshot trick just to open the survey.

There was one question where they asked me to list the most positive aspects of Unity. I honestly don’t know how to answer that question. I’m sure there’s something on the backend that I’m not considering because I just don’t know, but I had trouble thinking of a single positive because even the new features that I think are good, like descended characters, are bugged.

I think one of the options for positives of Unity was “none”. Pretty sure I put that. The question was phrased so it’s asking you what the positives to you are. I’m sure there’s been backend advantages to the swap but Unity has in no way I’m consciously aware of improved my experience of the game. It was a train wreck that was a necessary evil and we’ve been recovering from it ever since.

Actually yes! There’s at least one on here who posts pretty often, and I suspect a few more.

All this sounds like too much work, so here are the answers to the survey I created in my head:

  1. Yes, I would like to see more Ghost Riders in the game.
  2. No, the Descended characters are not very helpful.
  3. No, I would not like more time on the loading screen.
  4. Yes, I would like more ways to earn things like costumes, supports, and 6-star shards.
  5. No, I am not enjoying “Stretch Nebula” or the left-handed Taco Token.
  6. No, you may not borrow my lawnmower.
  7. Of course, I’ll probably keep playing this game no matter how goofy/tedious it gets.
  8. No, you can’t have too many Vaults.
  9. Purple.

Links aren’t working in our news pop ups so the QR code was an interim fix albeit very clunky. I’ll request an updated graphic with the tiny URL in it to make it a little easier to navigate to the survey.

Is this the thread where we also talk about what we said in the survey or will that be later? :innocent:

Easiest way was to go to the MPQ facebook page and use the direct link, none of the QR code rubbish.

Or the link here in this forum…

I said everything was terrible! I hate MPQ. This game is like being slapped in the face all day, every day, by some kind of mechanical face-slapping robot that follows me around all day.

I would never recommend it to anyone I liked – heck, I’d never recommend it to my worst enemies. The several hours I spend playing MPQ every day are the worst hours of my entire life. The devs have no respect for me and treat me, personally, like garbage.

Unity? The change to Unity is like medieval torture, inflicted on all of the players by this sick, sadistic dev team. MPQ is, without a doubt, the worst thing that’s ever happened to me, probably the worst thing that’s ever happened to anyone, and should definitely be classified as a war crime by the Hague.

Quit? I could never! It’s just too much fun!

They should use this as a press release!

I get that links in those pop ups are tricky, but before I came to this thread I tried the screenshot method & it did not work for me. I have no filters etc & it’s the standard camera app for my Samsung S24 Ultra.

Letting players know there is a survey is a big step in the right direction, I was happy to see the window. It just might be more helpful to tell players where to go to actually complete it. I don’t know the actual numbers, but I was pretty sure it has been stated a few times that the majority of players rarely use the forums, if they use them at all. Maybe those are all the players that have left since Unity, so we could be swinging the pendulum in the other direction now.
