NEW ALLIANCE VS. ALLIANCE EVENT

How come we haven’t seen a event that is alliance vs alliance based. We have events that are collectively based on the whole community collective. What if we had a event that was based on 4/5 days and solely on an alliance joining like the civil war, where we have to join 30 mins before for match making and at the top of the hour the alliance is paired against another that readied itself for battle against each other. The alliances are paired against each other and have a battle for points by winning matches. You can assign titles to players for the war like, general, lieutenant, sergeant, offensive/defensive specialists, and such to give them varying point values. At the end of the timed match say a hour or so then who ever scores the most points wins the match. Then you have a leader board that keeps track of total alliance wins and points for rank. Just my idea of doing something different for the game.

We have pve and pvp but I would like to see new creative ideas for the game. Is there anything that the devs have thought about rolling out like this? @Brigby

Is there anything that people have thought of that would be a fun event?

We see them EVERY event, it’s called T10 story and versus

I would destroy everyone else in my alliance lol

I remember when Boss Russ had Alliance placement.. one of many reasons why that event sucked. But I agree that we need a new alliance type mode.

Yea, I get that aspect, I’m talking about a limited time amount like how the lightning rounds (1.5hr,1hr or 30mins) are where the alliances can solely battle against the opposing alliance members for points. A true Alliance 20v20.

I played a different game before this called Marvel War of Heroes and they had these alliance vs alliance events and it was very fun. You could get a roll call from members who would be able to hit others for that time and would be a fun throw down.

I seem to recall this being something rumored or featured or one of the in-game polls. It’s definitely something I think would be welcomed by most. Any new game modes would be very welcomed at this point.

I think the game needs to lock in what alliances truly are before we have any Alliance vs Alliance events. MtGPQ locks in alliances every event. I feel like MPQ would have to do this as well before we got any Alliance vs Alliance events going.

I would be very much in support of that for all things, but seems that’ll never happen.

Those were my least favorite events in Mwoh. Proving Grounds were my favorite.

It was fun, that’s for sure, but I’m not sure we want MPQ to steal ideas from a game that shut down their servers, I assume because they weren’t making enough money.

I lived Mwoh…that’s why I came here. Got tired of competing in a top 10 alli for war and various events.

.

How many alliances do you think are compromised of 20 people in the same time zone, with free time at the exact same time?
It would be at best an 11,5 vs 14 or something.

Having experienced this in Contest of Champions, here is my thought. It is a fun mode, but it also amps up the participation requirements by 10x. A single person can cause an alliance of 30 people to lose. Even if all 30 people play, if one play screws up in their role, they still cause the whole alliance to lose. It creates both a higher amount of commitment and more resentment against other players. Locking people in for an event is great in theory, but it can lead to a lot of ticked off people when someone doesn’t come through and there is nothing you can do about it. So if an event like this happens, there really has to be either room for a lot of mistakes, or it needs to be lose in terms of time commitment.

The top alliances in Mwoh had set battle times, and if you couldn’t play those times you’d find a different alliance, or get booted for not making alliance minimum requirements.

I forget if the limit was 35 or 40 people per alliance, but the t10 battles often had nearly everyone online, and the casual alliances might be 2 vs. 1.

I wonder:

Would it cause resentment within the alliance if that one or two players couldn’t get the job done? I saw some posters stated that they got kicked out of their alliances because of some petty reasons.

How can you ensure that most of the alliances are able to get their members to participate? Not all members live in the same timezone.

How do you ensure that there’s a level playing field? For example, alliance made of mostly 4*/5* vs alliance made of mostly 3*/4*?

If such a mode were at all based on the current MMR model, you’d probably get some pretty lopsided matches.

They could have head to head bouts betweens alliances that ranked close to each other in the last event, though.
