New Character - Apocalypse (En Sabah Nur) 6*

After War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death made their way into MARVEL Puzzle Quest throughout the year, their father is finally ready to take his place on the battlefield as our newest 6-Star character.

Arriving next week as part of our 13th Anniversary celebration, Apocalypse marks the culmination of the story we’ve been building throughout 2026 and the beginning of something much bigger for MPQ.

Take a first look at Apocalypse’s stats, abilities, and more below!

Your future holds power of a different kind. Come… your own transformation is about to begin. Destroy up to 1 friendly Protect tile, dealing 16278 team damage for each tile destroyed (destroyed tiles do not generate AP).

(PASSIVE) If a friendly Horsemen of War is present, increase ability damage by 50%. If a friendly Horsemen of Famine is present, create a strength 1047 Protect tile each time a friendly Blue ability is fired, up to a max of 3 tile(s).

Ability: Strongest Will Prevail

Color: Yellow
AP Cost: 7

Those whose will have been tested will prove themselves worthy. Select and create 2 strength 1790 Protect tile(s). For each tile created on a Yellow tile, increase its strength by 835. Deal 11478 damage for every tile created on another color. If a friendly Horsemen of Pestilence is present, heal for 6180 health.

(PASSIVE) Apocalypse cannot be sent away if there are 5 or more friendly SAP tiles. If a Match-5 or greater is made on your turn, deal 9647 damage to the target, and deal 4135 additional damage if a friendly Horsemen of Death is present.

Ability: Horsemen of Apocalypse

Color: Black
AP Cost: 10

Everything you have built will fall by the hands of my Horsemen. Deal 21499 damage. Randomly increase 2 friendly SAP tile(s) by 1194 strength. If no friendly SAP tile(s) exist, deal 36549 damage instead.

(PASSIVE) If a friendly Horsemen is downed, create a 3-turn Fortified Countdown tile which revives a Horsemen with 35% of their total health on completion.

All character abilities are subject to change.

Nice! Now this is what a 6* should look like. And finally, we get some synergy with all these Horsemen. Really high health and damage as well. I think this may put him on par with CSM.

I’m curious if the blue passive increases damage for all powers or just the damage of the blue. Also, does this only take the new Horsemen into consideration, or does 5* Omega Red still count as Pestilence or Archangel as Death?

Hmmmm… He’s not exactly the missing piece the horsemen needed to be a cohesive team. Other horsemen are basically there to help buff apocalypse.

Half his kit only makes sense if 5 star ascension is coming. If not, his kit will age exceptionally poorly.

Thanks for giving us the Apocalypse appropriate to the X of Swords timeline when he was wounded by Summoner. Now I’m waiting on a 6* Genesis, who was much stronger during this series.

Will we get Summoner, Bei Blood Moon, and that giant crocodile before 6* Genesis?

I like that he’s characterful, but yeah a character tied to lower rank characters who are pretty mid can’t be more than a novelty.

On the plus side since Apocalypse is basically an anniversary/novelty character I wouldn’t be surprised if they shower us with shards - maybe even covers - which’d be nice for getting a taste of the 6-star tier.

I’m actually feeling very over the whole Apocalypse and Horsemen thing, so I won’t feel upset if no more characters from that story or timeline ever show up again.

Anyway, if the next 6 isn’t Doom, then the devs should probably turn in their keyboards.

All the horsemen stuff is just flavor. This guy has an AOE that does 190,000 x 3? His black power does 640,000 damage if no SAP exist? The yellow damage is a crazy number too!

Am I not reading this right? This guy has the highest damage numbers I’ve ever seen. Why is everyone acting like he’s weak?

I was secretly hoping for a swerve and the 6* would be Genesis.

But anyway…..these are some nice numbers. Even at 1/1/1. Im chasing him.

That’s a real 6 star!!!

insane damage!!!

His yellow costs 7 and hits for 3 x 207,000. Bring +12 yellow supports (you’ll need two heroes) and +2 boosts and you’ve got 1.2 million damage turn0.

That’s basically enough to wipe 3x672, without even moving the board! And if one of those heroes is Iron May…

Seems like a great partner for 2star Cap

… was the intent to invalidate every other character in the game?

Yep, you are right!

Though I wouldn’t be at all shocked if it turns out the values are misprinted, because it doesn’t make much sense that the same devs who created Brunnhilde, Cho, and Mojo would suddenly introduce a character who has the highest health pool in the game but also deals more damage than his own max health for just 10 AP.

You could pretty much knock the last digit off his damage numbers to make him on par with them…

2* Cap is the new 4* Star Lord.

His dmg numbers are beyond overkill, although I suppose some CNs get up pretty high. If you are choosing to use your L700 Apoc in PVE because…you aren’t playing Heroic? so you’re choosing to lose?

Makes no sense. He can insta kill every 6 with these numbers. (OK, not G). MORE than instakill them.

His health matches G but G still has higher match dmg; G has the highest match dmg in game, at least outside of CNs. Apocalypse has second highest match dmg though.

I think people skimming may have focused on the synergy part and not the actual numbers in the boxes. Totally agree with you. His damage is INSANE, especially for cost. If they don’t change his numbers, this is absolutely the guy to chase.

Galactus black can get to about 240K dmg on an individual with the AOE add on with 3 cosmics. His blue can do 132K AOE with 3 cosmics.

Apocalypse:

Blue 8AP 1,149,726 with War; AOE; need 3 protects

Yellow 7AP 620,562 single target - pick 3 non-yellows

Black 10AP 378,517 or 643,581 Alt/higher dmg number= No friendly SAPs

I try to be nice and fair lately, but if these stand I am feeling a bit mislead by all the lofty statements around the concepts of making the game more balanced out and the power curve shallower.

I absolutely understand this is a business and people like money and everything but COME ON.

Aren’t you the person that doesn’t want to give ANY evalution of a character until you’ve played them ingame because you don’t trust the correctness of the announcements/player’s evaluation or understanding of how a power works (Firebird comes to mind as someone recent who doesn’t behave as written).

Who’s to say these numbers are even remotely correct?
