It was the strangest feeling. I got to work and logged in to the D3 forums and - lo and behold, there’s no spam for me to nuke. No newbies to approve. Not even an out-of-line poster who needed slapped around. I check the moderator logs and whose names are out there? Mr DayvBang and GothicKratos have joined the esteemed ranks of moderator.
Everyone come say hi and give these 2 suckers a warm thanks for volunteering to keep our little virtual hangout clean.

It certainly seems a lot cleaner now than back when I was removing spam accounts a thousand at a time, and deleting 200+ spam messages every day.
I asked for various things to make the boards cleaner, and it looks like all of them got implemented.

Total spam is definitely down - maybe 50-75 messages per day getting deleted. But I’m not sure what else they’re doing behind the scenes technically to help the moderators out. The current primary driver for why the boards stay clean is the “first post must be approved” rule. And every other day or so I go into the members list and sift through the new members who haven’t posted yet and ban the obvious zombie accounts.
