The chance to not get anything in 10 games with a 36% drop rate is 1 in 27000, and while we’re not talking about impossible odds I’m pretty sure we can easily find people who didn’t get anything in 10 games. On the other hand the chance of not getting anything in 10 games with 4% odds is about 2 out of 3, which is far closer to what’s being observed based on my personal experience + board. Yes people tend to only report the bad news but it just can’t be that common to have so many 1 in 27000+ events being reported. You’d expect about 4 of them reported across the entire population if the entire population is reporting!
I see they brought back the “teams using TUs from characters they’re playing” bug.
Did it ever go away?
Saying that drop rates have lowered for one thing (TUs) but then rose/got added for another thing (Boosts) doesn’t equate to what is essentially ‘drop rates for both items combined got lowered to 20% to get either or’.
I’ve paid into this game over time and I personally don’t appreciate lottery-related chance changes made without clarification in the Notes themselves. I read the statement re: TUs and Boost drops as meaning TUs AND Boosts are now being dropped and so the drop rate for TUs is now (obviously) lowered to accommodate for the Boosts being dropped.
I also don’t agree that making boosts rarer or removing them altogether is going to solve the problem with stupid community PvE scaling.
If Boosts and TUs are dropping for everyone, then everyone has Boosts and TUs to use. If there are none, then nobody can use them. It balances itself out so long as it isn’t a bought item only.
What the real problem is is that 1) some people are getting a bit of a wacky scaling problem, and 2) there’s a mechanism for gaming scaling and MMR and the method for gaming scaling and MMR needs to be addressed.
No more players dying on Trivial nodes to falsely trick the game into lowering the difficulty for other nodes. Period. If you’re dying on Hard then the game might adjust a bit but someone who’s consistently dying on a node because its levels are way too high should not be seeing their node difficulty skyrocket.
How does it make sense that on the nodes people gripe about the most there is a sudden skyrocketing in regards to difficulty (surely, not everyone suddenly Boosted and voila, they all passed that uber-hard node that KOed them 3 other times) while the Trivial node plummets in difficulty?
NOBODY and I mean NOBODY - including newbies - is seriously dying horrible deaths on the Trivial node.

My Steam account has a lvl 51 2* Thor as best character and he gets pelted with 3* TUs every other battle.
