I’m still trying to understand all the ramifications of clearance levels.

If someone chose a lower clearance level for the season, would they see different rankings than those shown in the posts above?

I’m pretty sure not. Points are points, regardless of what progression / placement rewards you get, either individually or from your alliance.

I think that, if you don’t join an event, you get level 1 alliance rewards when it’s finally over. That is why my alt account always joins every event (particularly PvE, though this thread is about PvP seasons) at level 8, even if I have no intention of playing. Getting 2 or 3 elite tokens every day from the hard work of others (especially my main account) is much better than a single standard token.
