In the meantime brigby your comment about more getting t10 is funny. That must count noob brackets with 1* roster. In my brackets the top 100 put over 1200 up. So 90 people just got the shaft on cp.
But it does make sniping and point suppression much more appealing.
Seems like you’re taking away the CP reward from veterans who SHOULD get it and give it to people who get top 10 via easy brackets, luck or just circumstantial. Plus you’re making us play a lot more matches. If that’s becoming the norm i guess lot of endgame players will stop playing PVP or just quit altogether.
This is all positive in my eyes. I basically clocked out on Versus mode 2 months ago because I was sick of not being able to do a 2 minute shield hop to break 900 without getting sniped. Straight 40 wins for my 4 star cover? Sign me up. Can’t wait until it’s a permanent feature.
About this “We found” stat you just posted. What shards? What Matchmaking brackets? If I am correct, you are again punishing the veteran players who play this game and recommend it to others. There are many people, who will break 1200 points, and then not shield. Did you factor that in? Also I question your math. 40 wins at an average of 40 points a match = 1600 points. Most people skip and look for higher point value targets. Unintended consequences of this, is 5 stars characters are now less useful. Sell them for easier matchmaking and higher placement. You can pound the crap out of the newbs who win their first five star character, and people will.
No way, I only play about 16 or less matches to hit 900 or higher currently.
With the new system is have to play 40 matches and win for the same rewards !? That’s like 2 more hours per event ‘aint nobody got time for dat!!’
unless they open up MMR of course , please do that
As with almost any change, I think this is going to be worse for some section of people, but hopefully better for a much larger slice of people. Particularly newer players and those with 3/4 star rosters who basically consider PVP not worth it based on the effort to get the rewards.
Personally, I used to enter late, play the seed teams, and then 3 or 4 others but not if they looked awful to fight, and hope for decent placement rewards for that. With this system, I am much more likely to go in, play 3 or 4 matches at a time and move on, because I don’t have to worry that I managed to get all the way to 864 and everything I do beyond that just leaves me worse off because I go to take down somebody with a good amount of points and get hit by 3 people who I beat on the way up (so they probably had similar or better in the match than I did) for 2x as many points as I managed to earn in that fight.
Since we’re talking about statistics, can you find out/post how many matches players fought on average per pvp? What about the average point value of wins?
Because there really and truly seems to be some disconnect here about what amount of time investment these rewards are worth; especially relative to how much time they cost before this change
Every Veteran player of mpq will just support that this is a BAD IDEA.
More Playtime, for the same rewards, and the only thing that keeps most going (the cp at 1200 points progression) now gets pushed to ranking.
BAD IDEA
I know your “numbers” account for clearance levels 1-8, but guyz, 'comon, use your brain a bit:
veterans are so many that they use cl8, cl7 and often cl6 to get the top 25 placements sorted out, per time shard.
40 wins for the same rewards i can reach in 12 matches worth 75 points? Nope thanks.
Those kind of changes are what cause your base player mass exodus from this game.
Offer better rewards, don’t cull the excisting
I’m annoyed to think I’ll have difficult (i.e. health pack usage) fights from wins 15 to 40. Some form of cupcaking will come back from this, because I’m probably gonna sandbag for some losses to queue up easier fights.
Just like the pve change, it’s like they’re giving in with one resource (4* cover accessibility), while tightening the grip on the more valuable resource (CP).
this sounds way better than before, but I avoid pvp in general because I find the grind a pain. being able to just play when I want to get the wins for the progression rewards I want will be nice even if 40 seems a bit high.
I should add that since this is your trial run during the off-season event, I will not be participating. make sure you count how many players won’t even bother with that stupid idea, especially from the veteran land. So your “numbers” can get a bit weight.
Too bad i can’t flag a moderator’s post as abusing. Cause that’s how this feels.
Oh please get over yourself, not everyone is doing slice 4 that they’re done after 13 matches, some of us are grinding away hopping in other slices just to try and hit 1200.
I’m a veteran player as well and will participate in this… Not everyone shares your mindset so don’t speak for everyone like you’re trying to lol
So we’re supposed to be happy over matches being fixed at 25 points with no losses? This better be a test that you never run again, like fixed pve points.
Ok thats just not true even in CL7. Most of the time, hitting 1200 gets me a final rank of between #10 or #30 sometimes, it varies a lot. And a lot of people hit 1200 withouth finishing at that score.
40 wins… that’s at least doubling the number of matches at the moment, this will be overly grindy just like PVE is. Terrible terrible idea. We like PVP because it’s different, we dont need more grinding for the same rewards.
Seriously reconsider that number to 30 matches MAXIMUM, heck it should be more like 20-25.
