Pestilence voiced her response in deference, “Well father, the ritual will be ready as requested, the reagents from Famine and War have already been made ready.”
Apocalypse stepped forward and beckoned his beloved daughter to stand. “You are sure it will meet her requirements?”
Pestilence let out a rare smile. “Yes, assuming the final reagent is procured.”
“Once we succeed here, the past millenia will mean nothing. We will have what we wish for and more.”
“There are reports of forces mobilizing against us, the actions of my siblings have not gone unnoticed…”
Apocalypse responded calmly, “Too little, too late, by the time they are upon us, it will not matter. Prepare our defenses and ensure that the ritual is ready for completion on your brother’s return.”
“Yes, fa-” Pestilence’s grimace was cut short with the sound of energy crackling from within the throne room.
Apocalypse looked to the being that had dared to interrupt, so few could do so without finding death at his hands.
I appreciate the teasing but we are also less than a week from Oct 1, which has been used as the anniversary start in recent years. Can we at least get a confirmation on when the anniversary will begin?
“No absolutely not!” said War who had been listening in.
“What troubles you my child?” Apocalypse demanded.
“It’s her! She keeps on changing the colour of my bedroom wallpaper! And then I was going to wear my red shoes, you know the ones that go with my flames and it turned out she has messed with things and now they were actually green! I look FOUL in green! She is NOT returning! Nuh huh!”
“Don’t be such a spoiled brat!! You always were Daddy’s favourite! I like her, she keeps moving around the breakfast cereal, it’s fun! It was in Dad’s sock drawer last time…not so much fun…” Pestilence beamed
“I will absolutely not start any wars if she is staying here! Daddy make her leave!”
“Uhm well I sort of invited her for a fortnight, I thought she would be useful for you know conquest and that sort of thing” said Apocalypse
“I HATE YOU DADDY!” wailed War
“Right that’s it, you’re grounded! Go to your room…now then where did I leave my colour coded to do list? Ah yes but hang on… it’s been replaced by some sort of riddle!!! ‘Be a Smurf to prove your worth? Here’s your plan, it’s Kool-Aid Man, don’t sulk just think of Hulk!!!’ I don’t have time for this gibberish…QUANDARY!!!”
