Question - A little off the top

Perhaps this has already been answered, but why does Deadpool’s “A Little off the Top” leave what looks like a bloodstain on the target’s life bar?

Because he’s attacking their life bar, like the ability’s description says. It doesn’t prevent them from healing, even though it sure looks like it would.

because he’s deadpool, and he’s interacting with the actual life bar rather than the enemy.

he doesn’t cut them and make them lose HP, he literally takes “a little off the top” of their life bar.

You’d think his animation would attack the life bar then. The animation showing up in the middle like everyone else looks like it’s attacking the characters.
At this point, Star Lord has a better fourth wall breaking animation with kitty paw.

They shoulda put a little chibi Deadpool march up to the life bar and cut a chunk off.

I always appreciate Deadpool threads because they remind me to drag him to the Prologue for a quick match.

I’ve gotten in the habit of adding him to the team for the essential node in DDQ, kills two chimichangas with one bite.

Thanks. I thought maybe it designated the damage as unhealable, but as that wasn’t in the description, I didn’t know. Appreciate the responses.

I actually use deadpool on some of the trivial/easy nodes with daken/mostorm. modest rainbow team with some passives and daken’s heal. I start with that team on the low nodes - that’s how I make sure I use him every day.

I hear they’re working on a deadpool movie - affleck supposed to play dp…

Minor correction - it’s Ryan Reynolds. Not Affleck. Unless you were joking or honestly got it mixed up, be careful, the legion of deadpool fans might come after you for something like that icon_e_wink.gif

I’m just annoyed he’s not being voiced by Nolan North.. Ryan Reynolds is MEH.

have to disagree, i think Ryan Reynolds is the perfect deadpool. He is snarky, off-balanced, and well.. just plain odd.. yet oddly i am drawn to his movies.

Even the tweets he is sending out from the set makes me think, they made the perfect choice

Yeah, that red mark on your health bar looks weird at first, because DP’s the only character to mess up your health bar. But as time goes on, you’ll just learn to ignore it entirely. icon_cool.gif

I don’t use DP that often, and with him under covered, a little off the top doesn’t do much… I think his slash mark becoming the new health cap for that fight would be an interesting addition to that ability. Then healing is capped on all true healers and temp healers and it would be an attack to worry about. It would truly piss me off to see my Groot get hit with that then only be able to heal 3/4 of the way up (or whatever the amount is that he cuts off).

The only thing I’m confused about is it ALWAYS take of certain % (depends on amount of covers) of health as it has maximum damage bracketed on the ability? If so, guess there’s no way to actually KO the opponent with it (unless they have 1hp). If it’s similar to icon_punisher.png

then it’s slightly easier for me to grasp.

yes - I get those guys mixed up sometimes. d’oh! oh well. honest mistake. not trying to rile up the deadpool fanboys icon_lol.gif

I’ve wondered this too, cuz if a character is low enough, he DOES “down them” a la Punisher.

I think they were perhaps playing off one of his supers in Marvel vs Capcom 3…

Don’t forget that strike tiles also add on top of Deadpool’s damage. For example, if you’ve 300 in strikes, you can kill an enemy at 850 health with ALoTT.

It’s already an attack to worry about - 3200 for 6 is stronk.

Well you’re entitled to your own opinion. However I’ve a feeling we will never see Deadpool’s real face in the movie, only him with his mask on. Which means that it doesn’t matter who is physically acting, it can be Reynolds or Stephen Hawking for all I care.

What’s important is the voice acting in this case. I have watched a few movies with Reynolds in them. His voice still loses out to North, unfortunately.

Oh and about him being snarky etc, that’s the writer’s job, not his, anyway.

NOLAN NORTH! NOLAN NORTH! NOLAN NORTH!
