So, I just don’t get the current reward structure.
A while back, a change was introduced so that top 25 in PvP would get you all 3 covers, provided you picked one up from your alliance. This is the top 5% of a bracket. You actually have to go some, but for those making the transition it’s achievable. This was done because it was seen to be too difficult to claim all 3 covers (you needed top 10, top 10 - we thought that was tough)
A similar % can be seen in PvE, with the top 5% able to earn all 3 covers.
Fast forward to now, and because of the change to alliance covers you now need to be top 5 in PvP. With brackets of 500 that’s top 1%. This is mirrored in the current ‘The Hunt’ PvE where you need top 10 for all of Blade’s covers. Again top 1% (brackets here are 1000). The alliance cover is now the lowest bracket for the individual rewards. I.e. If you qualify for the 3* bracket (or 2* in last PvE but that’s a separate issue) of rewards, the alliance cover will be the same type. So I have 2 black Marvels and none of the other colours. That really helps me to buy into the new released character, and makes me want to claim as many of her covers as possible for the new PvE so she’s powerful. Not. I mean if I had all 3 covers I might want to spend HP to advance her to help with the essential nodes. I can’t right now because I have 2 covers stuck in 1 colour. Never mind that black is the top progression reward. That’s just salt for the wound ![]()
I think that’s too tight, and I also don’t understand the metrics of it. It can’t be encouraging HP spend.
It is also making the PvP brackets down right anti-social. As everyone crowds in for 3 covers AND the massive ISO boost, it squeezes out the players that actually need the extra cover. It can really encroach into RL to make sure that you don’t get pushed out in the last hour or so. And if you live in the EU, well, unlucky.
I for one would like to see a return to the previous model of rewarding the top 5% rather than the top 1%.
I am aware that this is alliance dependent, which is why the approach of the top cover being the same as the alliance one meant that even those who weren’t in an alliance stood a chance, but those that were didn’t squeeze out those that were trying to develop emir rosters to get into a high placing alliance.
TL:DR The current system is making the gap between haves and have nots wider, and is making the game overly stressful can we go back to alliance cover matching the top awards bracket rather than matching the bottom one?
