We are a little behind in getting this out there and we apologize for the delay. But we have the Rivals of Ixalan Card Gallery now live on our site. You can find the Card Gallery HERE.
We do want to give a very big thank you to Octal9 for having the RIX cards available on his site HERE when the set launched. Please be sure to check out his site when you get a chance!
@Brigby does this mean we’ll have the Dominaria gallery soon? You did hint that it (and this month’s Q&A) would be coming out soon (actually, you said the Q&A would be this week, but whatever).
I still fail to understand where is the rush. Why does the gallery have to be revealed shortly before the release?
I get why spoilers for paper magic start a month earlier, since the cards are already printed, but here… I’m puzzled (pun intended!).
What are you confused about? Why the gallery comes a week or so before release and not sooner? Or why we get a pre-released gallery at all?
If its the latter, the reasoning is to build a bit of hype, and also for some quick corrections before everything is final. As the Ixalan release proved, sometimes there are major (or minor) issues in cards that the devs missed that we catch (in that case it was wording and card costs). Also, we as a player base like to be able to plan in advance what we want to do with the new cards.
You misunderstood my post MBurn. I understand the purpose and hype of spoilers. Trust me, I follow paper magic really closely.
I keep saying that the current development feels super rushed. Cards that are pushed like crazy, weird new experimental mechanics that are quite fun but end up having tons of bugs and puzzling interactions that are not documented anywhere… And somehow the distance between cards being released and the release itself feels very short.
I’d like to enjoy those card previews before they finally make it into the game instead of a big dump.
At least this should give the development team more time to collect feedback as well as better test what they are about to release.
I guess the rush comes from the purpose of the developers to catch up with papermagic, which I understand indeed… They need to be paired in my opinion.
We have been so many months without any new content at all, that made this game fall behind paper magic really far. So that’s why we have seen Ixalan/Rivals in such short period of time.
After dominaria will be released they will have caught up, so i would say the next releases wont feel pushed or in any rush.
