I first want to thank NothernPolarity and Dauthi for their awesome guides! They have been a big help.
I’m collecting my roster and things seem to be going well. I’m a casual player who is looking to fill out my roster with characters I enjoy and try to do well with them.
My problem is that I’m addicted to opening tokens. As soon as I get one, I open it. I’ve received about 12 tokens from various vaults and lucked into several legendary characters and the 1000 hp one so I’ve been able to unlock many roster spots (22 and I could get one or two more). I haven’t spent any money and don’t plan to, so I need help cutting some space from the roster.
I have non rostered covers for: Prof X (blue), Thor modern, patch, cyclops uncanny and cyclops classic - all red. I will get a doctor doom today from the daily reward, too.
My goal is to build my favorite characters, so I’m trying to ultimately get: daredevil, elektra, gamora, star lord, blade, cage, fury and maybe ant man and invisible woman.
I’m considering cutting wolverine x force and iron man35. I may not recruit one or both versions of cyclops but I understand he’s good.
Ultimately, some like storm will go but she’s one of the characters I’m stuck with for now.
Any advice other than to stop opening covers (don’t know if I can!)
If you need to make room for some of those covers, I would drop Human Torch, Captain Marvel, and Vision in that order. The ProfX and both Cyclops almost seem too good to pass up. But it’ll still be a while until you get more covers for them to be useful.
I wouldn’t spend ISO on any 3 or 4* yet, raise all your 2* up first. You have a lot of the good 2* well covered, just not leveled. That’s mainly what I would focus on.
Edit (addition): At least make sure you have enough HP for a roster slot before opening a token. That way if it is a new character worth keeping, you can. I would not spend any CP. Save that for later.
If you aren’t using him any more he should be safe to drop - Juggernaut can usually handle the one-star node in the DDQ all by himself. With the new randomized matchups you may get locked out if Juggernaut pops up as an opponent there, but that hasn’t happened yet so you should be safe…
I’ve been working t level up my roster. I haven’t cut anyone yet, but the time is approaching. Lots of covers in the queue and little desire to keep many of them… But I’m guessing I should make room for patch, prof x and at lest one cyclops. I’d also like to keep th 3 star Thor… Luckily my hot hand has cooled somewhat and I will likely be dropping mystique, dr. Doom and psylocke just because I am unlikely to fund room given my current state.
I would keep, in this order: 4cyke, px, 3cyke, 3thor, patch.
I would keep all of those over the following on your roster (if you had to drop, I’d drop in this order): fantastic, vision, 2torch, 2marvel.
all of those in your queue are solid characters that will, some day, be important to you. and I don’t think you’d be losing much by losing one of the ones mentioned. I put the 2*s last because I imagine you might use them eventually.
if you think you’d every consider spending money on the game, the most effective use of a little money is on slots right here at this point in your progression. spending a little now, if an option, would really help avoid/delay some of these decisions.
Thanks! I have enough hp saved up for at least two slots I believe (800) so I will be rostering some of those in the queue. I’m probably letting doom, mystique and psylocke go, though… I know they can be good later but I doubt I will use them over the others.
Trying to decide on IM35, too. Probably one that can go if the consensus is that juggernaut can get me through the DDQ level 1 solo.
Managed to get three more black panther covers from the last pvE event… Glad I kept that one! Especially since he is featured in the new one.
I really appreciate all of the input - I think things are coming together well so far. I have 900 hps so I should be able to get another roster spot or two. Likely will try to squeeze in both cykes, profx, and see if I can do patch or Thor.
As a general rule of thumb, the characters awarded in one PvE will Always be essential in the next PvE. It’s a good rule to be aware of so you can plan your roster in advance.
I’m not progressing well in he new pve event… Those thugs and countdown tiles are killing me. I have the featured characters but I’m having the hardest time stopping those threaten tiles that pile up. My hope for another panher cover is diminishing.
Life would be a lot easier if you had 5 blue covers for your 2* black widow. She can do a great job keeping those countdown tiles from firing. So while you won’t get there most likely this event, just remember it will be a lot easier next time it runs.
I’m hoping to get one more roster slot this week by earning some HPs. My plan is to drop IM35 (and if I have to, maybe ms marvel) to roster the other cyclops and 3* Thor. I’m going to let go of psylocke, mystique and dr. Doom from the queue. Holding on to the LT for now and focusing on leveling the 2 stars.
I was very happy to snag another blue black panther cover from the pve event. Many health packs were used. Next up is aiming for the blue OBW in the SHIELD sim.
Is the xforce wolverine worth keeping? From my reading, it seems he’s fallen out of favor.
unless you are flooded with 4* covers with a very restricted roster, I’d roster and keep all 4s that you can. xfw is not an ‘elite’ character, no, but he is still good - great in certain situations. pairs very with with xpool and/or cmags and/or loki and that black is very strong. if I had to drop one of your 4s, it’d be fantastic in a heartbeat.
Was playing the daredevil event and beating my head against the wall trying to get to 800 points as daredevil is my favorite character… Every match I won was immediately erased due to being attacked. Got to 650 though and I opened it… Another xforce wolverine black. Glad I kept him!
I’m happy with where the team is heading, but it’s so darn slow… ISO is tough to find!
My standard token pulls this morning (was doing LRs for the iso) were an iron man 40 and squirrel girl. Doubt the squirrel will be rostered but it’s there just in case. Was also excited to get a rocket and groot and iron fist from the taco vault…

Well, I may have made a rash decision that I will regret, but it’s done. I opene a taco token and got Gamora, a character I wanted to collect. I dropped she hulk for her (wanted to play the second part of the DDQ).
I should have tossed ms. Marvel or vision or something, but ms marvel is featured right now and I hate tossing even a bad three star with 4 covers… Oh, well…
painful reminder to not open tokens unless you have the hp to roster someone new. hoarding is not fun sometimes, but necessary if you want to avoid making those tough decisions.
