Heard on a Line chat that there’s a rumor that a 5* is coming out after the 1st of the year and it may be Scarlet Witch. Can any forumite confirm? That nice lady HailMary seems to have her pulse on MPQ, maybe she’s heard something?
I think she said it was going to be Thanos from the end of Avengers and featured in GotG.
Her stylist also does the hair of the wife of the brother of a secretary whose friend works at MPQ. So she is usually pretty plugged in to the hottest gossip.

I would hope 5-star characters would be unplayable (for the foreseeable future) and their treated as boss-type characters.

I hope they don’t do something like this, personally.
Think about it… if the devs take the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe and make them 5 
, then what comes next? There could be no 6, 7, or 8
characters. All future characters released would have to be weaker, or alternate/lazy versions of existing characters. 
If there is a 5
character coming, I hope it’s a weak version of them so that more powerful characters can still be released later down the road.

Only way they could do this is if the 5* was unplayable, eg only a mob, in which case why call it 5*? Seems ridiculous. Without a wide variety of 4* to choose from what’s the point in introducing 5*?
I imagine that she’ll have something like “No More Mutants” as her main ability that simply removes any mutants from a match. People will say it’s a hard-counter for the growing XForce metagame, but thems the breaks.

If we were going to make a major announcement like that, it wouldn’t be done in LINE chat. 
I think they need to do it like the Chinese pirated games where they had an expansion to Diablo 5 before Diablo 3 was out. Why stop at 5*? Make the release an 8* and just skip the 5/6/7s.
I hope they don’t release a 5 star too, but there is certainly plenty of powerful beings in the Marvel Multiverse:
The Watcher, Pheonix, The Beyonder, Galactus, Apocalypse, Silver Surfer, The Destroyer, Infinity, Ego, Death, Living Tribunal, Mephisto, The Celestials, Annihilus, Dr Strange, Black Bolt, Surtur.
But despite that, they are not very interesting, also there is few 4 star choices to be going to 5 star already, I would prefer they make more 4’s.

Your list includes: cosmic entities who rarely appear upon anything but a white background; villains who fistfight with Thor; Galactus; a Hulk-level hero made by Galactus; a mutant the X-Men have a slightly harder time defeating; an entity the X-Men had no chance of defeating but which committed suicide on account of IT ATE A STAR; a god in the real, non-Asgardian sense; the devil, but not in a Christian sense; a guy with a very loud voice; and a Sorcerer whose supremacy shows how limited sorcerors are when faced with actual power.
Oh, and a very tall bald guy who might very well be powerful but won’t ever lift a finger for anybody. I’d give The Watcher zero stars because he would never play. Phoenix Force, Galactus, Beyonder, Ego, Death, Living Tribunal, Mephisto, and the Celestials, I’d give five stars because no existing character would have a chance at scratching their noses.
As for who gets three stars and who gets four, that’s kind of arbitrary. Why would Wolverine and Nick Fury be four stars when Loki and Magneto are only three? You start arguing power, you’ll find this game has it’s priorities mixed.
But I’d love to play as Annihilus.
