Sarkhan and dragons

Look, nobody plays him right now anyway. Can we just bend the rules and allow him to play any dragon, regardless of color? (definitely DIDN’T open Keiga and Jugan…)

Eh, it doesn’t matter, the masterpiece dragons dont all work anyway

I noticed. Kept wondering why Jugan wasn’t converting gems, then realized it only worked when other creatures were on the board. #AhTheBugs

I got the white one, and its ability didn’t work at all. No destruction, no mana gain reduction, nothing

There are only three dragons he can’t use, which asking for that really feels like it’s the same as asking for Liliana to be allowed to use all zombies. They’re probably not going to do it.

Though I feel like he might perhaps be more valuable if his abilities also worked on dinosaurs. It would definitely work to counterbalance how expensive dragons all are, and would allow him to work without having to make special color exception for him. I mean it’s not like people don’t confuse the two… see the flavor text from Angrath:

Yeah, I’d like the same change for Arlinn. She should be able to use these new blue swimming werewolves.

WereDolphins, monsters of the sea

True, but that might be kinda fun! There are allies outside of white for G2, as well! And red dinosaurs for Huatli…and probably some other things for other PWs too.

Angrath was obviously wrong and confused about dinosaurs.

Sarkhan and Arlinn are legacy walkers, so they are probably stuck in their legacy. Huatli losing out on the Dinos that create tokens, however is a mistake they engrained in the latest block… :frowning:

that’d make him for fun to play for sure. I tried him out with my red and black masterpiece dragons and it was okay with his 2nd ability, but honestly if you own either Lily3 or Bolas they’re more entertaining (and effective) to play the new dragons with.

You don’t generally want to keep the kamigawa dragons alive long enough to utilize them with sarkhans 3rd ability, and lily3’s first ability if more effective than sarkhans 2nd

Honestly the best way to improve Sarkhan is to make his mana non-terrible. If he got +3 instead of +2 on R/B matches and kept his +1’s across the rest of the board he’d be playable. Give him Saheeli-style mana and he’s solidly good. His first ability is excellent, his ult wins the game on the spot if the deck is built correctly.

I mean, I don’t really care if he’s good or not. I just think poor Sarky should get to play with ALL the dragons. He deserves good things after what he’s been through…

just think of all the green dragons he used to get to play with, but now he can’t. You can even see him reaching for them in his artwork, but never being able to grasp them. A single tear falling from his glowing blood-red eyes.

Really? The Sarkhan GOT his happy temur-colored ending already

Narset is probably already fed up with him following her around and trying to hit on her.

She was probably already disappointed to find out the Sarkhan was even more awkward than she was.

But, yeah, it’s Vol, the legendary Sarkhan of Tarkir, he should probably be a little playable

If I were Narset, I’d be LIVID with Sarkhan… going back in time and taking away my khanship… making me subservient to a dragon that thinks subjugating humans is in our best interest…

Maybe it IS in our best interest, though?

Queue the philosophical debate on whether dragons governing humans would be better than human governing dragons eye roll

no wait…actually that sounds pretty entertaining.

Go for it

Look, if we’re going to debate the pros and cons of Sarkhan’s Time Traveling Adventures, we need to acknowledge the fact that Ugin fudged up the balance of the plane by getting his butt kicked by Bolas. Without that, the Kahns and dragons would continue living in harmony and only cyclically murdering each other, instead of going to either extreme

Look, if we’re going to debate the pros and cons of Ugin getting his butt kicked by Bolas in episode 5, season 2 of Sarkhan’s Time Traveling Adventures, we have to add extra blame to Ugin.

Not just from the resulting awful soap-opera romance between Kahns and dragons that ruined the rest of season 2…but also because his epic-failure to Bolas allowed him to summon a purple zombie army that wiped out fantasy-egypt in season 3 AND made me discard my entire hand when I got hit by him in season 1 (yeah I know it we’re going backwards a season but it is Sarkhan’s Time Traveling Adventures).
