Way back when saving teams started, I figured out you could place a 1* you didn’t need in the middle spot, save the team, then sell the expendable character… Which would leave you with a saved two person team that could be loaded regardless of the essential in the middle.
It was reported here and discussed. (For full disclosure, I believe myself and another forum member independently discovered and posted about it)
Fast forward to now…
I haven’t had a saved two person team in quite a while and decided to rectify that situation, only to find out it can apparently no longer be done.
When I sold the expendable character, that character was replaced by another character… Not even the same name.
1* venom was placed.
Then sold.
Then Cosmic Spider man was put in venoms place in the saved team..
My purpose for detailing this is to ask if others have had a similar experience, or if anyone has found another way to save a two person team.
Also, when did that get changed? I don’t know if I didn’t know about the change, or if I knew but forgot.
I have experienced something similar, but it is merely a graphic glitch.
I saved a team of 1 for PVP fights against seed teams. (The short version is that I use Thano5, whatever the loaner character is, and a third character that will just stand there and take damage from Court Death. Rather than scrolling down through the 1- and 2-star fodder every time, I saved a team of 1 to quickly drop in my unlevelled Big Wheel as the third.)
I saved a team with 2 disposable characters in the first and center positions, and the aforementioned Big Wheel in the third position. When I deleted the center character, the slot appeared empty like it should. Then once I deleted the first position character, it suddenly showed Shang Chi in its place - so it looks like Shang Chi, nobody, and Big Wheel. I thought something went wrong, so I repeated the process and ended up with the same results.
The important thing is that even though Shang Chi is displayed as part of this saved team, only Big Wheel appears in the third position whenever I select this team. Like some kind of graphic placeholder glitch where he’s there, but not there at the same time.
So try equipping your saved team in a place where you know it is accepted, and maybe you just have a similar graphic “ghost” on your team. If not, then I’m way off base and haven’t the foggiest idea what you’re dealing with…
I have a team called DPD 2*
Used to have 3 folks in it, but sold or ascended 2 of them, just Wolverine in slot 3.
At first it looks like the two spots are blank.
Then I scroll and a “Ghost” (Dead Pool Spirit)
Then I scroll some more and different ghosts appear.
In the end I load the team, and only Wolverine gets loaded.
I haven’t tried it in the Pick 2 sense, but for a long time now I have had 2* Magneto show up in place of any character that was no longer eligible for some reason.
I personally gave up on 2 slot team savings… hated how ascension and whatnot seemed to affect it. Just used the filter for most things… typing like the first 3 letters of someone’s name, usually. Usually narrows it down rather well.
Right now, I have about 15 save slots dedicated to Heroic teams over the past 3+ seasons. I figure there might be overlap (and there has been), and it’ll be nice to have a starting block for some heroics when they come about.
