I like the fact that there’s two Training Grounds. If I ever need to test a deck, whether Standard or Legacy, there’s always a place to do it. Most days though, I don’t play either of them. I don’t feel any sense of negligence, deprivation, or dissatisfaction as a result.
Maybe if they had left the reward as 15 crystals instead of dropping it to 10 people wouldn’t be complaining about the extra games as much. I like having them both there if you need to test, but 4 extra games for 5 more crystals (compared to the old system) is kind of lame. If people could play one TG and get what they were getting I don’t think we’d be having this conversation.
I think people are missing the point that it’s called “Training Grounds” for a reason. The rewards are a nice (small) incentive for people to build better decks, especially for new players. But the real point is to create a sandbox environment that allows deck testing without many lasting repercussions, positive or negative. It’s not meant to be an area for consistent reward farming or “mandatory” play.
Considering they thought a 1 time hundred K runes and a handful of packs would break the economy, an extra 10 crystals a day must seem ludicrous to them.
What if they just moved the 10 crystal rewards from the 4th win to the second win? Then it’s still 4 wins for all the crystals, granted 5 more crystals than we used to get.
This is my preferred solution as well. Two TGs is too much on top of everything else. Normally I might play through one just to keep grinding out crystals but since the rewards have been dropped for each, it’s even harder to justify the time invested. Let us get crystals on the second or third win, please.
