We want to take a moment from the regularly scheduled programming here in the forums to share some exciting news! Earlier today, it was announced that 505 Games has acquired the publisher of Magic: The Gathering – Puzzle Quest, D3 Go!. You can read the official press release HERE.
What does this all mean for the future of Magic: Puzzle Quest? It means that with the added resources that a larger publisher like 505 Games can provide, your same MTGPQ team is going to be able to continue to improve and expand the game with a partner that is well versed in the match-3 RPG space. All development plans we’ve got in store for the future are still in developments and we do not expect any change in plans for being able to deliver you the best gameplay experience we can provide.
We’re excited to be a part of 505 Games and we hope you’re as excited as we usher in this newest era in Magic: Puzzle Quest! Thank you for being a part of our adventures over the years and we hope you stay for many more years to come!
I’ve followed this transition for a little while now, (Some tell-tell signs on the interwebs )
I for one am VERY Excited for the future of the game, and am THRILLED to hear that you’ll be getting a new push of resources and energy to work on this game we all love so much (We only grumble because we care )
VERY Excited to see the new directions and hope to help in any way we can.
I read “do not expect any change in plans” as a negative. The game is not in a good place right now. Too much unjustified complexity and no quality of life improvements in years. I won’t hold my breath but I suppose there could be a chance of possible hope, maybe.
