Training Grounds: how does the pvp work?

Hi,

Relatively new player here. Training Grounds are the only events I’ve participated in so far and I was wondering if they were actually PvP matches?

The game says I am facing other players but it does feel like I’m playing against an AI - the opponent always plays instantly and does the same kind of moves the AI does in Story mode.

Am I not understanding correctly how PvP matches work in the game?

Your observation is totally correct : This game has no actual pvp. The wording is misleading, in pvp you face decks, build by players, but piloted by the ai - we call her Greg.

There are other Magic games with real PVP, I actually like that this one doesn’t. It fits into my life better that I can carry it around on my phone and play bits here and there and have interruptions and still finish my game and not have to stress and not have people ragequit on me. I like to finish games whether I’m winning or losing and the interaction with other people in REAL PVP has been pretty universally horrible for me. Fake PVP is nice.
